Hello to ALL members of the EIS Community, and Tradewarriors everywhere.

EIS would like to announce to you that the Tradewars 2002 Awards Nominations
for 2006 will be starting at 6 pm edt Friday the 2nd of Feb.
These Noms will be open until 6 pm edt Friday the 9th of Feb.
And then the noms will be counted and the awards polls will be open on
Sunday the 11th of Feburary at 6 pm edt for 7 days untill the 18th,
then the Awards will be anounced on Wednesday the 21st at 6 pm edt.

Please everyone, note that due to the size of this years awards
and the way we are doing it this year, it is requested that all
nominations be kept to 50 words or less.

There are 40 catagories and if we get 30 repiles to each that
will add 1200 posts and all of these will have be archived.

I don't agree with any of the "worst" categories.
If the TW Awards are supposed to bring us together as Vulcan mentioned, having a "worst" category will not do that. Heck, we had plenty of division the last time, and there WEREN'T any worst categories.

I agree with Oso. Having a "worst" for any category other than SmackLord, where it does not appear, serves no good purpose.

Well, I'll be danged.  I agreee too.   That was my biggest beef with the tw awards over the past few years.  Why would they even consider having worst catagory awards.  All this does is turn it into a popularity contest and open up the door to smalk talkers.  You guys want to make this thing fly, kick the worst catagory, limit it to maybe 10 of the most important catagories, and anyone that won the previous year isn't eligible for 1 year.
That's my humble opinion.

Remember this is all in fun nothing to take to heart, hell i expect to win an award or two : ) why should i remove any of the catagories and deny anyone the chance to have there say, chances are if i did that theres a few of you would still cry foul, and we cant have that now can we.

Also if theres any catagory you just disagree with dont cast any nomination for it.

What I was going to ask if there is a WORST moderator or admin catagory?

I have "worst moderator" and "worst gameop" nominations primed and ready to go. Am prepared to defend my nominations against any challenge, citing references.

In both categories, they go to egregiousness, abuse of position and inconsistency.

Sorry Kav.  I don't think you have a shot at WORST mod.  Just between you and me, that one is surely wrapped up if everyone that cares hasn't already left this forum.

After speaking with Zen, I must affirm my position that there should not be a "worst" category.

Causing division and derision is the only result from this sort of category. It should be enough to honor people for their efforts, not to deride others for their foibles.

I again appeal the Vulcan to reconsider.

i have to agree on the "Worst" award... its harmfully to tw as a whole... I vote all the "worst" awards get dropped... the is no need to create more strife than their is already.
and after all the "Worst" are dropped that leaves room to award more noobs... I see only one Noob award... change all the "worst" to "Best New"... that would help TW as a whole a hellva lot more than Worst...

Zark.  The worst nominations started out a few years back.  I remember it vividly.  The person running the awards, (no names mentioned), disliked 1 server just like some dislike UTW today.  I believe that was where the awards took a tumble down hill.  They never were really stable with disagreements on how they would be ran, but at least when they first started, they weren't a joke.
 

Okay looks like everyone took the worst catagories the wrong way, I wanted them up for some light hearted humor, mainly for some laffs, was going to vote myself as worst sysop, but due to people taking it the wrong way, I may have those catagories pulled.

Unless people want to get some fun out of it, just let me know, Sorry if it got taken the wrong way.

Oh and for all to know, I asked Zen to post the Awards for me, cause I had a family emergency and didn't think I would be back in time to do it. So if a topic is by him on the awards it is the official topic to vote on.
