there are many more variables involved before that question gets close to be clearly answered.
exp/alignment of buyer
the lower exp player will spend more wheither red or blue
(corrected by Silence)
purpose of buydown
to load a planet for base upgrades
to pump cash into the port for mega robing
or to load a planet for ptrades
desired side effects
max / min exp gained
and lastly sometimes its just plain best to cycle a macro.

There are at least three types of buydown scripts I know of: same sector, adjacent, ewarp/twarp. The adjacent and ewarp/twarp buydown is good for unlimited turns or when putting product on a planet for upgrade. SWATH has an internal script that can do all three (or four if you seperate move types).
I use CK's buydown in one of my scripts and it works very well. You have flexibility with the options of speedbuy, best price and worst price (megas). The script is also faster, IMHO, than SWATH's script.
I have not used EP's haggle script so I can't compare, but from the quality of his work, it is most likely a very good script.
Rev's rev-helper pack also has buydown scripts, but I haven't used them in a long time. Someone who uses ZOC can probably tell you about them.
If you find a script, give it a try - never know when you might stumble across a really good, or bad, script.

This is never true dude. whether you are paying best price, or worst price, you've got it all wrong.

It's a great script, just incorporating it into other scripts via the swath offer capture technique can be a pain in the Butt.
And yeah, ck's buydown is at least 25 times faster than swath.

And for those using ZOC -
Rev's new Buydown is way much fast as well. It might even be a tad faster than ck...

thanks guys - i was looking for a fast buy down as i'm fueling planets in a game where the planets don't comw with fuel. i have a bubble and i want to fill the planets with fuel as fast as possible for defence reasons. i also down loaded fuel from other planets as well. i have used ck buy down but was wondering if there was something faster out there. - our red also goes back to rob the ports so we really don't lose the $$.

I made a refueling script that was so fast that it would be finished before it had even started!

Oh those were test scripts I made a while back, they are not sat all safe to use in actual game play, there is no error checking and use a loop to work the commands in them so if anything changes while using them it will more then liken fuse you.
Actually, now that you mention it, something that I have been thinking about doing for awhile now was starting a project in a few months or so (after I finish up some of my other tasks), though I have been wondering if anybody would actually be interested in starting a new corp. with the main purpose to write a new inclusive Blue Corporate BOT for public use (via compiled distributions.) It would be written with TWX, although current knowledge would not be required only the willingness to learn TWX and is a dedicated blue favored player. I think this would be a great project to practice the influences of Extreme Programming (XP) with, as well for many other reasons.
I can help you in writing a script, though, sure. Let me know how you are wanting it to work, etc.
