Anyone checkin' in on TW Cabal lately?  I actually wanted to start a whole thread on Traitor's 'Red Bot' rant, and now...  it's goin' down?
 
Is there a plan to save all those articles and formulae?

I imagine I am not the only one who will be very sad to see the site go. Altho we never played together (or against each other for that matter) I have learned a lot from both your site and your scripts.

Well, Traitor, I am sadned that your leaving, I know from talking to you that you have pretty much quit playing for awile now. I enjoyed the few games I got to play with you and wish we had more games together. I also hope that you will let someone set up an mirrored site of yours so that the community can continue to use the vast information that you collected and written. You have contributed to the community more then most people. And if you ever do come back, I know its a stretch, but let me know, I will always be willing and wanting to corp with you again. Traitor, thanks for a great TW encyclopedia. You have been a fun "friendly enemy" over the years and will be sorely missed.

The wayback machine has your site archived so all will not be lost when you go down. The latest edition is 5-29-06.


More recent editions will probably surface, there is a six month time lapse between when the spider crawls a site and its appearance in the archive.

I'd like to mirror the info on your site over to TradeWars Academy if I could. I have the space, it fits in perfectly with TradeWars Academy, and it would be there for new players and those needing to look up a forgotten point. In any event, the content will remain the same, credits posted to the authors in the TWA Credits page (list is growing already). Just waiting for your (or whomever) approval.

Nah DF... The Info he has collected would never be replaced. It is a neccessity to tradewars that all of that information be readily available to the new player, and to the veteran player alike. I know that I go there numerous times in a game just to check on certain things I'm unsure of. There needs to be a mirror.

Negoiations for a mirror are underway, if tratior answers his mail that is. : )

Now that is a fickle funny change, from talking about making a new RedBOT to not and on top of that taking down the site.

As for the red bot- I really doubt that anything like that could be made. You'd end up #SD# if you tried to use it.

Well it's possible if you have good control and smart blues that operate it.

As for operating a mirror... just ask him. People already have, he's in the process of deciding what to do, from what I know.

I have the whole thing ready and online... just havent heard from Traitor. I guess he is holding all his calls.

I have offered to host it for him for no charge. Including adopting the domain name and paying for it.

But no answer. If anyone has heard from him please let me know.
