Here is my advice

Suggest C.
Telix SALT II is almost identical and has many good tw scripts on the web. SALT has a major deficiency tho - no arrays. Would be very simple to edit SALT scripts to incorporate arrays if a helper were written in C. |

I would not use Visual Basic, but this may be the only language you know. I wish someone would make one using the wxWidgets library (C, C++ based). I did not want to code the Terminal emulator myself so I found a Delphi library. If you do use Visual Basic, then make sure you use VB.net, that is better than the VB6 and VB5, it is a cleaner language and a bit faster than its predicessors, but in reality you need to try c, c++, or c#.
