Here's a thought...
Disable photons and give the one ship with an IG a small attack wave/poor off odds. This would force 2 or more players to work together in order to get a kill on a well defended ship.

Although I do not play unlim or high turns games (mostly) I like that idea.

LOL. You don't need an IG to catch someone early on. If you make the shipwave too small or the odds too poor then it's nothing more than a flying deathtrap.

8:1 defensive odds on all ships
1000 sectors
minimal ports
low port regen rate
i bet the game will last longer than 12 hours.

First off sorry for taking so long to post, I had to go out of town.
Thanks for the good ideas.
Again I am still trying to get ideas, I know this is going to be hard to make an edit that will slow down but not take away for the game. The thing is that to many tournys end in a draw or people lose interest or what ever. I think this sort of game will help introduce other players into tournys. everyones got to learn sometime right?
No part of this tournament is set in stone except where its going to be played and hit will be a highturn/unlimited game with lottery style being how the corps are decided, no byoc or draft.
I am how ever going to try to get it decided by the end of this month if possable. That way we can move on with step 3.
