My unexplored sector scout is close.
It goes to all unseen.
I may add the option to go to all ufigged.
That isnt a bad idea.
If I ever get the time to script.

Code: # ----------------------------------------------- # Dnyarri's insanely simple unfigged sectors report. # -----------------------------------------------
setVar $file GAMENAME & "_unfigged-sectors.txt" delete $file gosub :get_figs setVar $idx 10 while ($idx <= SECTORS) if ($figlist[$idx] < 1) write $file $idx end add $idx 1 end echo ANSI_14 "File written!*"
# ----------------------------------------------- halt # -----------------------------------------------
:get_figs setVar $fig_str "" setVar $line_idx 1 setVar $figged_cnt 0 setArray $figlist SECTORS setVar $figfile "_ck_" & GAMENAME & ".figs" fileExists $exists $figfile if ($exists = 0) echo "**No fig data found - Halting*" halt end echo ANSI_14 "*One moment please, loading fig list.*"
:read_a_fig_line read $figfile $file_line $line_idx if ($file_line = EOF) OR ($file_line = "EOF") goto :end_of_fig_file else setVar $fig_str $fig_str & " " & $file_line end add $line_idx 1 goto :read_a_fig_line :end_of_fig_file
:process_fig_str # echo "Figline: " $fig_str "*" setVar $funky_temp_idx 1 while ($funky_temp_idx <= SECTORS) getword $fig_str $wordy $funky_temp_idx if ($wordy > 0) setVar $figlist[$wordy] 1 add $figged_cnt 1 end add $funky_temp_idx 1 end :out_of_fig_loop
:end_of_fig_read echo ANSI_14 $figged_cnt & " figged sectors read.*" return
Reads CK's fig file, spits out a list of unfigged sectors. Works in 2.03, prolly works in 2.02, definately works in 2.04.

Thank you sing.
And yes, EP, I know I need to sit in on a few of those.
Did you record any of them?

Thanks Sing that was a great demonstration of what I am
trying to do with this thread.
We need to have more then 1 place to get these scripts JIC....
Now if we have to we can make script requests a Header of its
own and then have seperate threads for the posting and
discussion of specific classes of scripts, ie..
Informative, Planets, Ports, Reds, Blues, and Combat.
If there is an interest for this I will get it done.
btw, jic = just in case : )

Interested here. I like this thread but a little more organization never hurts.

I as a sysop would like the ability to bang a game, and explore it out without filling the universe with figs. People coming into a game don't like to find it "preloaded"
JTWAT has a "ship-Explore" script that will explore without trading or dropping figs.

I believe Wotok and Wabbit is the same person.
Zero chance of that.
I believe it was Wotok who created and posted the Context syntax file. I encourage TWX Scripters to consider TextPad. I found it simpler, and it can be configured with a black background, unlike Context. If there is interest, I could post my TextPad syntax file for TWX 2.04 on Grimy.

YES, it was Wotok who turned me on to ConTEXT way back, But if EP
has something simple-er its worth a look! but dont have a link to get it?

I'll try to post the syntax file to Grimy this week, and maybe a few screen shots of my setup. The black background was Traitor's idea, but once you've used your text editor that way... there's just no going back.
Heh, I think I've heard the brothers say that... once you go black, you never go back.
