Well the thing that sucks is there has only been one other person in australia to ever die from a stingrays barb that was like in 1940 something like that!! It all honesty that was one of the more unlikely ways to die. It is very said though I really like the dude!!! Anyone ever watch his ESPN commercial? One of the funniest i have seen!

I think it is Steel Magnolia's tag that says it best: "I'd rather die while I living than live while I'm dead". Irwin did what he enjoyed, he knew the risks and used his knowledge to mitigate those risks. When I first saw him - maybe '96 or '97? I thought he was nuts - but he was entertaining.
Now he is in a better place and may he rest in peace.

The best way to deal with a crocodile or an alligator: Wait until it crawls on land, then blow it's brains away with 00 buckshot.
Then prepare it. Delicious . The tail is similar in taste and consistency to barbecued ribs.
Actually, down here in South Florida, when tend to go after 3 to 4 footers by jumping out of the Airboat with a knife, younger ones more tender and yummy, knife saves the valuable skin for resale, lol

I know this is a bit late, but I hate when people say he died doing what he loved to do. It might have been, but given the choice I am sure he woul dhave prefered not to die that way.
Now I love driving trucks, but I do not want to die in a firery wreck and some Butt says he died doing what he loved to do. Thats BS. Most of us want to die of old age. I know I do.

Well, no matter how you look at it, or what your take on this happenstance, you have to admit he still took a better route then Elvis! Amen!

I agree with you on the truck issue, but what I meant by he died doing what he loved was also he was an animal conservationist, and loved that passionately, and what drove him to do the things he did for the sake of the animals of our planet and the driving force of his shows. So when I said he died doing what he loved, he did. Doesn't make it any better he died though. But if it were for a cause worthwhile like his then I would be honored to go out in a way like that, but that is me.
Edited for mispelling
