I've been looking thru the swath docs, but not finding the info I need...
How do I break a macro in swath? I'm tired of wasting turns...

Does Esc work? I use that to kill scripts, I assume it would work the same for macros?

Nope. Here's the list of what DOESN'T work:
esc, break, ctrl-break, alt-q, random mashing.

You can't break a macro loop, best you can do is disconnect and hope it stops.

Oh I know Ctrl, Alt, Del; Ctrl, Alt, Del; Ctrl, Alt, Del; (in rapid succession) [:D]

Another good reason to route swath thru TWX. You can hit $c and disconnect, wait a minute, then log back in.

Macros are good, however depending on what you are doing, a simple TWX script might work better especially when turns are an issue (better control). Another thing is to determine the number of moves each macro burst takes and then set the loop for the max number of loops needed.

Yeah, that's what I do, calculator in hand, but sometimes there's no stopping a mistake, that $c is exactly what I needed, thx sing

next time, run a simple loop, make sure it works, then run the entire macro loop.
If you do it right, the $c will become redundant

I always run it once, even trusted macros, just because. I just seemed to run into all sorts of macro-busting aliens that game.... didn't put in enough enters, reset my navpoints 1000 times, hehe.

Laff, not to mention sometimes conditions in the macro actually change mid-stream. Like if you're moving product and the planet warps out...

then in that case, dont run a macro. run a script that has built in safety features.

Actually you can break a macro in Swath. At least I'm able too.
Tune in next week to learn more.. j/k.. set the Burst size to something like 20 (i usually set it to the max cmd setting if it's something like 20/30). Once macro's running in it's loop, hold down ESCAPE for a couple seconds.. Swath shoudl get the point.
