-So to wrench this back on track...
The original question regards game info available from the (V) version screen. I then branched the question to include the data on the * and S screens from the game entry prompt.
Basically; interested in getting stats from the game. Anyone have any other tactics for gleaning game info? (other than cim data, whole other thread)
As for the other stuff, not sure exactly where this thread went astray...

You can learn a lot about a game by ICQ'ing one of the players in the game and askin "who's winnin?"

If you're wanting more info out of the V screen, its only going to come with experience.
Like trait said you can ask who's winning, but if what you are really going for is to weigh yourself against someone else the only way you will comprehend more than what is shown is to know the game better.
Sorry buddy, can't really give you any more than that.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not lookin' for a crystal ball or something. I just didn't realize that the data on the V screen wasn't realtime. I did know, however, that the figs on unmanned ships didn't reflect on the V screen. (thanks to TW-Cabal!)
I saw that the V screen was a part of ck_refresh_figs and thought I'd look further. Didn't get much on a 'search' so; I asked.
I think if I'm lookin' to 'weigh myself' (scary thought) against others my best data will come from the C L V screen, which seems much more 'real time' agreed?
And thanks, everybody. You have really given quite a bit.

Can't tell from the CLV either, really. Not once the game gets beyond a certain point. Rather than trying to score yourself by measuring resources why not score yourself by who's not #SD# ?

nope, you need the information provided by both the V screen and the CLV, as well as the logs recorded throughout the entire game to acutally ascertain what has happened. the best way is to steal money, see how well you can colonise if you make the most of your turns. then compare that to daily activity, and what has transipred as far as invasions and what not.
That is the only way to know "who is winning", and even then it is only a guess.

Sometimes even who's #SD# isn't a good measure of who's winning.
As perviously mentioned, the Daily Logs are a good indicator.
