Someone told me that the version (V) screen was only updated every half hour or so, not real time. Is this true?
Also, why is it that some games you hit V and get the screen instantly, other times you get half screen, then a pause, then the 'Current Stats' part? Is this a built in delay?

V never updates by itself. it waits until someone hits V, then you get the lag while the TWGS does all the calculations. after that, for one hour, V will be instantaneous and none of the data will change. after one hour, the next person to hit V will get that lag again and the numbers will update.

But it is not always accurate. Like if a planet hasn't been landed on in some 24hrs(I believe) it wont update the fig growth. It can really toss it off if there is large Fig production on planets in game.

Figs on empty ships don't show up either.

It's accurate, you just need to know the few variables that could possibly toss it off.

To further limp this thread along, is the '*' screen showing game stats updated from the latest version screen? For that matter, is the information on the (S)Status screen at the game login prompt; re;Figs/mines/port values accurate realtime? or just the last numbers in the games buffer?
