I've been using the ship catalog reader and ship anlyzer scripts that are available at grimy.

I want to mod the analyzer to make it more useful for comparing turn per warp to hold ratios and other fun stuff.

It's a java daemon and all I have is the compiled file. If anyone knows where I can find the source, please let me know. Thanks.

Ask the author? Also... not a nice thing to post, but truth is all java files are source files. The compiled bytecode is trivial to decompile these days. Google it.

The once you are done, rewrite the thing for TWX, it will run a billion times faster(props to Xide, and EP)

I may have TWX versions of these functions. I could post them if there is enough interest, but probably not before the weekend. They were written as includes, but easily used either way.

I've tried to contact Mind Dagger but have had no luck. I did not realize that I could decompile the bytecode. I am new to java development. I have found some decompilers and I will try using them. Thanks. Also, I am new to TWX but I would be anxious to try your TWX versions, should they become available. Danka.

You can, but should you? I dunno. Hehe. I think MD is busy with school and work, get Miss here to shoot him a msg... he might actually listen to her (yea, well... I dunno).

The decompiler worked. I have the java code now. Has anyone ever used netbeans or another IDE for editing swath scripts?

Yes. The java developer platform (forget the name) was something I played with about a year ago to write a menu system for swath. You can put your compiler info into swath and it'll do most of the work for you. I found rexx scripting was an easier way to do menus tho and abandoned the java project.

Now while what you have suggested here is very cool, I dont see it being that useful, as Sing said. You'll get yourself killed against an at-keys player.

Dude, did you say REXX scripting was easier? I'd hate to see what the non-REXX solution looked like :P

Wrong thread, sil... =)

And yea EP the non-rexx (java) approach was... BAD. Really, really, really, really, really^dang_near_infinity bad. Was so bad I actually had to compile the script around the configuration I wanted and was not even remotely user-friendly.

The rexx version in Swath allows for a quick and easy pull-down, arrow down a few times (or mouse-click) and your script is loaded seamlessly. Editing is as easy as going in and changing the .zrx (yea, that is easy in comparison).
