Starting mobiles and someone willing to stay online and run run-away all day long equals
a guaranteed stalemate. You can't grid someone out, so how ya going to stop them from just
running?

Ok now if the Stalemate is what happens when you start with mobile planets and no ptorps...and thats a bad thing.....No ptorps and they have to grow the planets and they get over run and thats a bad thing too......Now by keeping ptorps these two things are avoided?

Well as for mobiles it depends on the ore max and an assumption that nobody makes any gross blunders (like pdropping afk or missing an ambush, etc).
But... well not always, no. But you do slow the game down enough to give people a middle ground to play in. I mean a lot depends on the players, you get good players you get a good game. You get broken players and you get a broken game. IMHO the best thing an edit can do is give players a chance to be themselves, not just promote one style of play over the other. IMHO we should give new players a better chance to team up with established players, worry less about the edits and more about the people playing them.
