Those of us who remember dida, remember a kid who had fast fingers and a large mouth. Much has changed, you can tell by his posts that his fingers are slowing down, and he can now swallow his own head. Not a big deal. Dida was never a "great" player by anyones standards, he did his job, and because of his team, won alot. He could never survive solo, and after awhile, stopped trying, and eventually quit. Some of the greats are known because they could single handedly rip a team to shreds. He is not one of them. (I hope that answers your question excon) He was a good player, and was often on great teams.
Dida, I am grim reaper, aka grazhoppa. Players that have never been to EIS or the Forums know who I am. Sadly, you will never have that status. Great player am I? No. Not in my own opinion, I have had more screwups than any one of the members of the bush family. Do I think a personal attack on you is warrented? Nope, your just a res jr. You cannot help the fact that your medication no longer works. However, I will tell you, you can ask ANYONE that plays with, or against me, the strats I come up with are fantastic, and stockton, one of todays best killers (not the most skilled, but one of the best) Will agree, that it sucks playing against my team, no matter who's on it, he'll catch a pod (Usually on day one)
I know I'm not the best, by far. I know my team usually has the most skill, and leadership.. It's a combined effort, and I get bored easy (I hate long games) But you sir, do not have the talent to call me a no skill hack. I'll leave that to the real players of this game.
As a representative of Big D's team in the game, I can only say, 1 player short, 2 players short, 5 players short, we're a team. You dida, are an individual, and will be easily destroyed.
<3 to you all.
The only problem with this post is that it's nothing but a big pile of idiocy. You want to go point to point little man? Let's dance.
- You drivel on about solo play, and how I never survived it, and then quit trying. I ask you this - when did I play any solo game ever? It's very easy to make things up, but you don't have even ONE example. Solo play, turns play, unlims play, they're all different styles. I never engaged in unlim or solo play because it wasn't something that I found enjoyable. I enjoyed the teamwork aspect of the game, and I stuck with it. Maybe I should have tried out some solo stuff, but there wasn't anything that looked even remotely interesting offered. If you can point out examples of me even *playing* solo games, maybe you'll have a point.
- By and large I grouped with a select number of people. You, Stockton, and Bud (and I'd never even heard of ExCon) were not in that group - by design. We've never been in a corp together in a game for any reason, therefore, it stands to reason that the only observations you can make with any type of fact or logic behind them would be from playing against me, or seeing me play against others.
- When I played, my team won. There were a few exceptions, BOTE2003 being the notable one, but by and large, it was a given. It's easy to sit back and say 'well you were with elites but you sucked', but the facts remain that A) I was invited to play with them, B) I more than carried my weight in the corp (feel free to ask any of them), and C) As often as any other person in the corp, my actions directly resulted in us ending the game in victory. See, you don't have ANY specific examples to back up your claims - you simply have wishful thinking. If that's not the case - let's hear some facts.
- I find it amazing that all of a sudden I'm getting 'challenged' to 1 on 1 games. Seriously, I laughed out loud. During the course of my playing 'career' if you will, I have been saying more or less the same things. Especially to Stockton. The gist of those things being 'you really do suck'. During those times NONE OF YOU ever challenged me to a game - not turns, not corp games, not solo, not unlim, nothing. Where was your bravado back then? Where was your tough-guy 'I am awesome' attitudes back then? You think you've somehow proven something by challenging a person that hasn't played the game in over a year? Get over yourselves.
Graz - I'm sorry, but I just don't take you seriously. You are king of your own little kingdom now, but when the greats played, you were nothing. When I played, you were not even a consideration when taking into account any type of game strategy. Your self proclaimed 'brilliant' strategies - I can't help but chuckle. Your world fame, again, laugh. Really. Is that what props you up? Any strategy can look brilliant against players that don't know what they're doing. Even yours. So go back to your little universe where you're king, but remember - history shows that when the greats played, you were not even a peasant.

As long as they play nice OZ, but if they want to talk a little Smack Talk then they can let it fly in the Smack Talk threads on my forum. It is what it is for.
Anyway, Dida, you might not remember me, I played usually under Ghost Ryder in the old days, and Aries. Also this handle some, and you may remember my brother, he played as Adamantine, and Incubus. I remember you from a while back, and reguardless of the skill level, you had my respect then, and I am glad to see you back.
Oh, and I am not the Vulcan on Crunchers, I came before him.

Didaskalos (teacher?):
I suggest that you use your real life name. You have always come across as a child in your postings. Teacher, you are not. Demon TW player, dunno, maybe so. I have 2 very tetris competent playing children. They never secured a job based on it, nor did they seek to.

Actually Traitor, it took them ~92 minutes to blow Stardock in USO4, and you were expecting they'd do it in 3 hrs. Xide said they'd practiced that strategy about 3 hrs total.
Here' my log:
Xide was attacked by Star Port Stargate Alpha I!
Xide was attacked by Star Port Stargate Alpha I!
Xide was attacked by Star Port Stargate Alpha I!
Xide DESTROYED the Star Port in sector 5012!
And Traitor's ICQ:
Date : 2/21/2004 Time : 12:35 AM
From : Traitor
they are ahead of schedule. I prediced 3 hours with these edits.
It was an impressive feat... allowed for by poor edits. I feel the edits were to blame, not the team that best exploited them. Our corp didn't try because the CEO thought it was a cheap trick. 'Twas a bad experience for all involved.

Yawn... USO2004 was supposed to have SD blown in about 30 minutes per my last message with Xide about that. I blame gameop for not hardening Specials by blowing them a few times before opening the game as that has always been an allowed but cheap shot tactic in my book. Indeed...many players had been looking forward to that game and then left and were not seen again. Perhaps they had been looking for enough time to learn more about the game but we will never know as it is history...suppose some of us could grumble about the BOTE (2002) that FEN hosted also where the routers dropped lots of players for several hours and a couple folks rerouted through other servers but again players with the tech skills recovered so that is yet again even older history. As for remarks about prestone gathering random players I doubt if that applied to USO 2001, WTC 2001, WTC 2002 but that is even older history.
Nice to see dida back to usual smack chat and even nicer seeing SG back online...be nice to see you posting some of your rhyme and meter again oh ghastly one! [:P]

I can tell you why they blew up dock in that game. They were scared that DU actually finally all their players on the same team. CK bit the dust early on and I knew they were in trouble. Then poof, game over. Of course noone in DU thought about blowing dock because we liked playing the game more than winning I guess. I honestly think those guys were bored with TW when they did it. They had won so many games and there were no permas in the game that could even remotely challenge them. Too bad we never got to try with our whole team of turns players (this was after Blue Adept/Timbo joined our ranks and the only major he played with us). I do know that is a big part of the reason loki and I left the game. It had simply become not fun anymore.
timbo wasn't with you for that USO.

I remember graz being on that winning HHT team with xide long ago. Other than that, I can't say I've ever seen anything that impressive from him. There was a long period there that he didn't play, though. When he did show back up, he did some rather stupid things, but it might have been that he was just rusty. Likewise, I remember Didaskalos doing some pretty stupid things, but at the time he quit playing trade wars, he was one of the best.

Graz, Bud, Xide,Gravedigr,Speedy and Naz for HHT 2k+1
Graz and Bud got caught up in RL like a week into it.
As a result, Bud could only play sporadically, and Graz was like not there.
I got tagged coloing, cause of the log out, 1 exp to 1k no longer fed safe requirements for the ISS. ( 999 exp and higher) extern hit, and whammo by Kemper.
Yea, I was there.

Hmm. I think this about ends this debate.
Kemper's opinion, kemper being one of the best players of all time
OR
Stockton/Graz, two nobodies.
Yah.
Next discussion please.
