Has anyone ever seen this happen?

Details are I was using Alexio's script to build a certain planet type.

Ascian Wanderers claimed New Planet

There was a delay of maybe 45 seconds before I named planet and claimed it corp.
Now the funny thing is this is not Ascian Space nor was an Ascian in sector to "claim" planet.

Is it possible that there was another planet someplace else called "New Planet"? And that you or a corpie might have claimed or created it? Because it looks to me like the aliens claimed a planet called "New Planet" not "."

Traitor... another thing was when I landed on planet it was claimed by ascians. I had to reclaim it to make it corp

I've tried, and I can't reproduce this. Of course, the alien settings are probably way different. But I tried with my most aggressive aliens on my test box, and they didn't claim it, even when I made the planet next to their space, and waited over night.

Not sure what to tell you other than playing in games with aliens has its own risks. My advice is to avoid them.

I've never seen it, but here's what happened:

You came into new game.

In a new game:
Planet 1 belongs to Fed and is in sector 1
Planet 2 belongs to Ferrengi, if enabled
Planet 3-1000 belong to people and aliens.
Depending on the growth of the aliens, they
may or may not get planet 3, or 4, or 5.

Sometimes sysops will create delays where an
alien race doesn't appear until day X. So it
might create its homeworld later, too.

(John Pritchett is the only person who knows
how alien races think, work, grow and die).

So you created a planet at just about the
exact same time an alien race needed to create
a planet. How convenient they put their homeworld
in your lap! I have a high confidence you won't
be able to reproduce this.

I've seen this one.
Happened all the time on Ahab's server.
The "New Planet" was claimed before it was named, hence the new planet name.
It's something with uber aggressive aliens whose homeworlds have already been claimed and invaded.
Anything more and I don't know.
