There seems to have been some interest in twIRC, the script I used in Corp Wars to relay comms and fig hits between the game and IRC. I have posted the necessary scripts on http://www.grimytrader.com. It requires mIRC 6.16 (may work with other versions, but haven't tested it with them) and twx 2.02 or 2.03. I make no promises of support, but there is an included readme.txt file exlaining basic usage and depending on my mood, I might help troubleshoot any problems. Please let me know of any bugs you might find.

ya this is a nice tool. I really enjoyed it and helped out alot, plus it gives the reds a chance to stay in tuned with the game and whats happening when their not in it cashing.

Xide's sucks. Last I knew, it used text files to transfer stuff. Tweety wrote the base for the what I released. It creates a direct connection to you TWX session. There is no lag or problems with lots of incoming text.

Instead of using IRC. You should try working with TWXSync. Harley, if you are interested in helping grow it, let me know. "Fig Hits" is a nice place to start. On this event, an XML packet is send to all "connected" users and each helper can act on it as they see fit. You could build the options right into a REXX script which a function called waitForFigHitFromTWXSync() and the script will act on it when it occurs.

Why would you want to use irc? You have to type. Doesn't make sense to type on irc and try to type in tradewars. Just download Skype, it is free and 5 people can talk to each other at the same time and keep hands free to play

If you don't like it, that's fine. Personally, I think it's a great way for reds/blues to coordinate outside of the game, that way by the time everyone enters, everyone is ready to go. Additionally, it allows the players who aren't in the game to still talk and interact. It makes the reds feel like they're more in the game instead of just log on, cash, log off.
Earth - I think your synch server is a good idea, but I personally have two basic problems with it:
1) I'm cheap. I have no desire to pay for something else.
2) I don't use swath or attac and have no desire to use either of them
The benefit to the twIRC script is that none of the necessary components cost anything.

Ya the best thing about it, I think is that reds can be more part of the game and actually see whats going on, whats being discussed as they are not in the game. Although I wasn't a red, I did enjoy it when I was dead as I could still see whats happening and felt like I still could attribute to the team, but if u don't like irc don't use it... Just an oppinion.

Well my corp is using it in the BYOC game, and I think its a great little script. Its nice to be doing a buy down and having the oppurtunity to talk at the same time. Great job Kemper, good script, and nice to finally be able to see whats going on in game if your not in game, heh...
