Could somebody please advise me exactly which file to download inorder to get the JVM to work in SWATH and which directory/file it needs to point to. I have been messing with the for over 2-hours have downloaded about 3-files now all claiming to have JVM in them yet SWATH will not accept any of them, so now I have about 500-extra megs of Java crap on my drive and I am really confused. I am wondering how I got it to work with 1.7? Their website is confusing they have file downloads all over the place, Geeeez!!
I have read through the SWATH help files and the only help they were was to give me the java website. The help files even says SWATH will function without Java installed, so I am wondering does this even work in the new version? [V]

Yes it works with Swath , first look into your Prefs and under Scripts .. one of the 2 pages (I think page 1) there is a diolog
box for Java , point it to the right directory and you are on your way.
Mostlikely it will find it for you too.
If you have further problems with Swath , I'll probly be able to help you.
I kinda know the program like the back of my hand .. oh where did that freckle come from <j/k>

You can go to to this addy, it checks your system config and gets u the right one.
http://java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp
I think the newest is 5.0 for the JRE anyway.
Or you can just search for the one you want to install i.e [J2SE SDK, J2EE SDK, J2ME etc. platforms ...
Then in Swath go to PREFERENCES: SCRIPTS: PAGE 1: BROWSE: and select the directory and the file where u installed. You will have to reload Swath for it to show.
Hope that helps

First wanted to tell ya both thank you for the help! Everytime I set the pathway in the SWATH script menu for the JVM it just sets it back to no VM selected, as if I had not touched it. I will try to hash it out some more, though. Why do I keep having these probs for!! Why can't it be easy, just for once!! LOL [:I]

maybe it recognizes the software development kit and not just the JVM. so jsdk1.4.2 or whatever is the newest. this would include the compiler.
