ACK!!!!

I have been using Swath for about a year. Use the macro feature ALOT! and all of a sudden its not doing anything, when attempting to use the macro feature- I have checked help documents in Swath, uninstalled and reinstalled and still won't work-

However, when I un-installed Swath and re-installed it, it didnt ask me to re-register the program. It was like it wasnt deleted all the way- yet, I checked and scaned it for anything swath related.

Any suggestions?

Probably a key in the registry. Go to regedit and search for swath and see if
it put your reg key there.

Actually, I did tht and I seen swath stuff in there but when trying to delete it, I was unsuccessful. It said "cannot be deleted"

I had that prob to when the new version of SWATH came out (1.7.0 or something), I stopped using SWATH for marcos and just went to making TWX .ts files that I would launch after I would change the variables... I dont know if SWATH fixed it with their last release which fixed the errors of the prevous release a few weeks ealier (the newest is: 1.7.1) If i recall though you have to first record the macro before it will work, using the Automation menu that can be selected from the Tools menu that is found under View on the top of the window. After SWATH is installed I think it already knows that it has been regged.

Also I dont think its the regg either because when I reinstalled SWATH over another version, I didnt not have to reenter the codes and it allowed me to run scripts, view the maps, etc. So I have full access to the program.

It could also be your profile.

Go into:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your user

Then tools (at the top) -> folder options -> Hidden files -> Show hidden files.

Then to application data.

This is where a lot of programs store app information. See if swath is there.

Contact stein or possibly post on the swath help forums. Stein ought to be able to help you resolve the problem.

My guess is that somehow you un-depressed the parse incoming text icon on swath.
That will make swath act as you indicated.

Let us know.

OK! I attempted all the suggestions.

I also went into reg and uninstalled Swath again, and this time was able to get everything out (without ruining my system) LOL! This time when re-installing it did ask me for reg code. I re-setup the Swath. and still no Macroing-

So, I got to thinking I have a new comp ( about a week old) I went and logged on the old one and I am able to macro just fine. so I am thinking maybe its something with the new ccomputer??

system is XP and it has security **** up the Butt on it (Norton stuff) could this possible be the reason??

Oh so its Norton is it then, it is very possible thats what is causing your issues, I say that because I also use Norton, "everthing" and I can't use macro's either, but I love my little TWX so I dont care about it anyways, [:D] (but why would TWX allow me to perform tasks and not SWATH all the time still going though Norton?)

Although with Norton the only sure way is to uninstall and check to see if it works propely, then if it works you probably have to sacrifice your Norton programs. [:(]

I doubt it’s Norton but try turning it off to see right click the icon in the task bar and choose exit.

Like Vid said try going to edit and turn on parse incoming text.

Also can you run a macro from you macro list instead of using the record macro box?

This is wierd!! Stein just released SWATH version 1.8, as well as the new utility programs for it. Hopefully the installation will fix your prob? Just like cheerios !! http://www.swath.net

As for my problem with macro'ing I download the Swath 8.1 and now it attempts to marcro but can quite get there. It freezes and I have to disconnect and log back in. will try disabling that Norton crap.

I even had someone make me a script consisting of macros and that doesn't work either. [:(]

I totally un-installed Norton Internet Security. I am boggled I don't get it.
