As many of you have noticed the Grimy Trader site is having a problem with missing scripts and invalid user accounts. The host appears to have a server issue and brought a back-up system online -- unfortunately the backup site is several weeks out of date. However the good news is that the main server should be back up in the next day or so -- at least that's the claim -- and then the site should return to normal at that point. So please just bare with us until it comes back to normal. We may be looking into a new host after this and the previous email issues -- but for now the goal is to get the site back to normal without any data loss.
Thanks for your understanding,
RammaR

I can't even FTP in to update news as of now... so the first order of business is to get back all the data from the current host without pissing them off. second order of business: finding a new host... already have leads on a few from other members here -- thanks! Just gotta get the data back for now.

RammaR,
Try 1and1, they have good prices for hosting accounts and server the like, I think the addy is http://1and1.com I hope this helps, let me know, I use them to house my web server, now if you know how to setup a forum, then I can use your help. I am trying to get away from network 54, I don't like paying monthly for a forum that is as resttricted as it is. I would like more functionality for my forum. So if you can help or know someone who can, let me know.

RammaR, if you want to pay some faceless eurotrash company [:P], then by all means, use 1and1. If you want to support a friendly nieghborhood Web Host that will work with you and give decent support, then give http://www.geekoids.com a try. Not as cheap as some, but at least the owner is a tw-player.

Heh, you do know that tw-cabal.com was hosted by 1and1 for nearly a year, right?

Actually, it was free for me, too. They offered a deal when they first set up in the US where they would give away 3 years of free professional hosting. It didnt' take any commitment on my part. I'm going on a year and a half so far.

The prerequisite for RammaR is ColdFusion MX 6.1... I think. This is the sticking point for most cheap hosts.

Ask around in:
http://webhostingtalk.com/
You can post a hosting request, read the forums... you'll find
someone that can do cfm.

I think we've got a new host identified... but just waiting to get the last data backup or else we might just have to start over. I hope to know more soon, just really sorry for all the trouble just as the forums started up. Just bad timing.

Ah well. Thems the breaks.
Did you go with cfm instead of php for a reason? phpBB
has some sweet mods out there. If you can't restore the
data and don't have a backup... might save you some time.
Anyway. We wait with baited breath.

You hear that RammaR? I think I hear Singularity saying he's willing to help with a php conversion. [:P]
