Well its been a long time since I played TW, I was just wondering what everyone thought was the BEST helper program, and what the best scripts out there are???? I'm not used to useing these, I never did in the old day of TW, but I realize that I've not played in years and that the game has changes quite a bit. Sooooo...any help would be great. Thank you!

I refer you to this thread for some possible inspiration. http://www.eisonline.com/twforum/topic. ... rms=helper

I personally use SWATH and TWX for most cases, but I switch to others for different things.

I just readd your other post and welcome back to the game. I has changed much and you need a helper to compete. Although, much like politics, to each his/her own. I also almost always use SWATH and TWX together, but each helper may do somethings better than the rest. http://www.swath.net and you can download a demo to see if it is for you.

I am not sure what the free demos do on any helper that offer them, but let me point out TWX is NOT a helper, an enhancer would better describe it... TWX require you use another telnet app to work with. But the good news is (at least was, last I looked) it is also free, with additional features becoming usable when registered.

There is a free helper called JTWAT (HONEST, I did not make that up!), but bear in mind you get what you pay for... Also see ATTAC.

I use Swath and TWX... Swath give you access to java and zoc scripts, and included some cool mapping and data mining tools. TWX allows you to run some of the best made scripts out there (coded in twx :)).

The way you run both is: Point twx to the server address and port, and point Swath or any other helper to twx (127.0.0.1). Output from the game server is received by both TWXProxy and your helper.

I would stay away from Twar all togeather, its buggy as hell and is no longer being developed or supported and its not free. J-twat is quickly going the same way but it is open source so if your a programmer then go for it, its also free. Havent tried attac in about 5 years so I dont know about it. My personal favorite is Swath with TWX. There is also Zoc, which is not really a helper but its used as one and runs REXX scripts and lots of macros.

I use twx/swath.
I did at one time run twx with swath, attack and jtwat all running at once because each had something built into it that I liked. But now I can write twx scripts pretty well, so I ditched the 2 and just wrothe scripts to do what they did that I liked.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I think that I will check out SWATH/TWX and see how I like them. Going to be interesting since I never used a helper prog in the old days...but I'm going to check them out and see what they can do. Where can I find the script packs for these two????
