Does anyone know what the correct settings are to make Zoc "See" the tradewars ansi screens the way they are meant to be seen, Example being, when you first select a game with say.. Swath the "Tradewars 2002" ansi comes up where it asks you to T. Play Tradewars 2002 and so on. I've been trying to adjust ZOC to display these ansi's correctly, if anybody has any info i would greatly appreciate it.

Not sure what you mean. I have it set to ansi bbs emulation and it displays them just fine. Perhaps you need to adjust your terminal size until it's the size you want it.

My ZOC settings are also Ansi BBS emulation but the Ansi's are garbled full of letters and weird characters.... there is also a tab labeled "Terminal" under this tab there is a setting called "Strip high bit" with this setting selected it makes the ansi (a little) better but still not like it should look or like it does look if i use Swath only. I hope this clarifies my problem a little more. Oh yeah, adjusting the terminal size just gives me a bigger view of a messed up ansi [B)]. Any more advice is very welcome!

Hmm, I had the same problem the first time i installed Zoc (some time ago). I couldn't get any ansi displays and the the colours seemed all wrong. I can't remember exactly what transpired but i beleive a corp mate forwarded me his "standard.zoc" file which gave me the same setup as him. This fixed my problem and i haven't had any since. If ya wanna give er a go ICQ me 253487552

I am almost positive that the HIGH bit is the solution i think. If the telnet connection does not negotiate it properly, you see wierd characters and also it will truncate the end of some packets. so when you get the command prompt, then it is missing the last 3-4 characters.
Try reinstalling ZOC or using a real helper.

Really, get a real helper, ZOC reminds me of an abortion made of the old DOS versions of Procom and Telix. You might want to try the old DOS solution and load ansi.sys at bootup.

ALT+S gives you the session proflie, under tab Emulation it should be set to ansi bbs.
under tab windows/ color: Background Black
Foreground White
Highlight <standard>
Underline <standard>
Blink <standard>
If this doesn't work let me know i will check other settings for you.

Harley<<<<<<---------<< You Da Man!!!!
that did it! it seems that i was using the wrong Character set. Using the
IBM/DOS/OEM set is what allows the ansi to display correctly, thanks a million, I know this has absolutely nothing to do with game play but it was just annoying as hell not having the display the way i wanted it.
thanks again, Predator
