 TWX 2.0 Script

Back in version 1.9, there was a dot_u script that searched your twx database for key words to help ease the process of going through your logs to find items such as planets or traders, aliens, or even the alien home worlds. As anyone written a script similar to this for version 2.0? I know that 2.0 has the Query script, but that will not check for trader space name, ie "Alien Trader Space." If so, where might I be able to find this?? Just curious. TWX 2.0 is great overall though.

You could always go to SupG's site http://www.scripterstavern.com and kindly ask in his forums that he write one . I beleive there is still a section for script requests, he may not get to it right away, but he's usually pretty good about following through on requests, especially since that one doesn't seem like it'd be to difficult to make (not that I have any idea how to write one for 2.0).

Hmmm...well it was at that address, but it appears to be down at the moment. Unless I've still got the address wrong.

That DotU Script is called DotU_Search_Script.ts. If you still have it just search for all the lines that start with "echoChar" and remove the entire line. You don't need it - just for prettiness, and TWX 2 doesnt support the command. It'll work no prob after that.

btw, HHH that game on Dr Wakko's server where you had all the assets - it's not running extern for a couple weeks now and now I can't even moth your cannons. It boots me out every time now. That is by far the most messed up game I've ever seen. Looks like he fights better than he serves games, at least against Wildstar... ;]

The game got messed up for me when all my messages wouldn't delete and they just kept compiling until I could not log in, or log out properly. Thats one reason I never played it anymore. BTW, nice nav haz all over the universe. I should have done that myself, was a great idea that I didn't even think of.

Just for info sake, all he has to do is delete the twmail.dat file in the game directory and it will fix the message problem. It appears to be a more common problem than initially beleived. He also needs to run extern...badly, even if he has to do it manually every day.

Yeah I think the game is dead. Whatever I can't keep up with all of the games I was playing. Anyways thanks Angus for the help, I deleted the lines like you suggested and it indeed worked fine for me. Come to find out what I was looking for wasn't being released in the universe until extern tonight. Go figure.
