Just checked out a server I had never been to and one of the rules of the board for all games is as follows:
"Tactics used to "take over the game" such as Stardock blockades, and others not mentioned are prohibited."
Now I am hoping that this rule applies only for a short period and people are allowed to try and take control of the game. The odd part is that of the "others not mentioned".
My guesses on possibilities for the "others not mentioned" part of "Tactics used to "take over the game".
Having a mixed corp to cash and build with..
Attacking other players and #SD# them..
Capping other players ships and planets
Killing other players figs and replacing them with your own figs.
Dropping limpet/aramid mines
Ptorping a player's moves away (don't even know if ptorps are active)
Creation of a nav/haz
Destruction of StarDock and the Class 0s
Blockading of sectors 1-10 - have to figure on this on being real
Yeah, some of those are a bit over the top maybe, but the point is who knows what is in the minds of others. And before someone says it, I voted my thoughts on the rule by not playing on that server.
Isn't about everything we do in TradeWars geared toward taking over the universe and therefore the game?

Lol... there was a nice discussion on that, wasn't there?
I doubt it tho. He doesn't have a rule like that posted, or didn't last time I checked.
There's quite a few out there, ice9 comes to mind, where lock-down tactics aren't
allowed.

I LOVE Ice 9 players. I played once in their Game A. When I was trying to promote the Corp Wars 2 draft game I noticed their charactistics. They were:
1. Didn't like to be called noobs.
2. Never heard of the EIS forum.
3. Mr. Marvelous was to them the best player in Trade Wars.
4. They didn't think that they would learn anything from the draft game as Mr. Marvelous wasn't signed up to play.
Great board for any player wanting some laughs. For example, I saw a cloaked player in an 6 way. And bases had no figs in front of them so were easy to find; most not very far from FedSpace. Some players didn't use scanners. In short, it is a great place for players to see how NOT to play the game.

Actually it was the Coalition server. They listed 5 rules, but there are really only two rules, the one I posted and one saying that the player has to be at keys whenever logged in - guess that rules out beer and the necessary breaks that requires.

The only rule right now I have on my server is " dont throw your cigerret butts in the unail. It makes them soggy and hard to light", but this could be subject to change as time goes on

Correction: Lockdown tactics are not allowed in some games identified as building games. We also offer unregulated games that have no such rules.

I guess that would beg the question of how it is determined that a rebang is needed?
