Vulcan, you ever hear of a little thing called a paragraph? Just a suggestion. LOL

Hey, though love how this is all "my fault", as if I was the one that started something with Zilla. As far as for you Vulcan, I was just wondering why you choose to chastise me on something you yourself also do? Guess you do not want to answer, thats ok though, it is fine wit mezza!

Well I do not exaclty see how saying things such as: "jeez, you need a life", "in your own little universe", "your limited sight and side of it" is doing anything to favor me? Now just why is it you think you know more about the BS that Zilla has been feeding to me then myself? Hey, though go right on ahead and peg his badmouthing me, directly upon me and point the focus as being all my fault. I be a big boy I can take it, I have more life experience then most, I been around the world and I have come to see the light many a time. I am tried and true, babe!

"I don't go around making trouble for them and bad talking them, I made an exception on my last post, I usually don't get involved in others quarrells, but you seem to want to be a jerk, so I will be one back to you,"
What? Say what, you must be kidding me?

...and the Saints come falling from the skies. [:O]

Harley, he does not clarify the majority of his posts, he just fires throught most of them. Giving or offering only a brief description of the answer when in-fact a detailed one is in order. This leaves those asking the questions to have to make another post, and another post, and other post; in an attempt to gain this needed clairification. Im am sorry, but telling a player to do a search on something, just does not cut if for me, especially when the running the suggested search turns out limited information on the subject matter, (i.e. the recent one of a SysOp asking how to make the ANSI opening screens.) If you are going give a half-hearted attempt, why even bother?

I'm sorry, I didn't know I was required to hold your hand. Let's take the example of the intro ansi. I have been in these forums for 4 years now and in that time this question has been asked and answered numerous times. I just now searched for "intro ansi" and guess what? I found the info that was needed. You seem to think that there is a requirement that people be coddled. For some reason, you think that the world is inherently unjust if you have to actually figure something out for yourself. I'm sorry if you're incapable of doing that, but it's not my problem. I don't know what games you're playing, but everything from solitare to World Of Warcraft requires you to actually spend some time in trial and error to become a good player. Trade Wars is no different. That doesn't mean questions won't be answered, but by God, quit thinking your entitled to a "This will make you an expert" book to trade wars.

In conclusion, the help I give is all you're going to get from me, so deal with it. If you think you can help someone better, feel free to do so. Understand one thing though, I don't have to come here, I don't have to answer questions, and I sure as hell don't have to put up with your ****.

I'm sorry, I didn't know I was required to hold your hand.
Not hold my hand, I never mentioned anything about hand-holding, besides you have not even offered to take me out for a date yet! I am not that easy sailor! LOL But, really though this again only serves to prove my point, as to the desperate need for game clarication to be made readily available to SysOps, GameOps, and Players alike. As far as answering questions and assisting SysOps, GameOps, and Players of those in these EIS forums, I think that would be considerated apart of the teamEIS administrative tasks and duties and as well would most likely included as apart of your Mission and Vision Statements.

Let's take the example of the intro ansi. I have been in these forums for 4 years now and in that time this question has been asked and answered numerous times.
This goes to my point, I bet you are so completely fed-up with being asked these very basic questions over, and over, and over. Man, would it not be nice to have a game manuel of instructions for this type of stuff. [;)]

As of current, whenever you decide to leave this board all of you're game related knowledge leaves with you, then were are all the other SysOps, GameOps, and Players left? Maybe this is the way you want it to be though?

I just now searched for "intro ansi" and guess what? I found the info that was needed.
Actually, you probably found that one that I posted for them, LOL. I had ran several searches prior to my related posting and determined that is was not not much of help to the question at hand. Again though this goes to note that these type of instructions should be included within the game of TW. SysOp/GameOps should not even have to ask this type of questions as they should be in the operating instructions, which currently there are none. Which is what I have been trying to point out.

You seem to think that there is a requirement that people be coddled. For some reason, you think that the world is inherently unjust if you have to actually figure something out for yourself.
No, not it at all really. I could just as easily say that you are closed off and instantly shootdown any form or idea that would impose a change, modification, or alteration to TW; but I won't.

I'm sorry if you're incapable of doing that, but it's not my problem.
Oh, me? I am very capable, I love doing research. Although I am thinking of the whole picture here, not to be limited. Trying to comeup with outside the box ideas and new innovations to better the game as related to TW. This is about evolution, not about revolution, think enhancement and advancement.

I don't know what games you're playing, but everything from solitare to World Of Warcraft requires you to actually spend some time in trial and error to become a good player.
I am not concerned with being good or elite, only how to understand the game in its entirety. Those games you mentioned do come with instructions, I use to play both and I never once felt the need to goto their support site to pose questions to others on how to do this and that.

Trade Wars is no different. That doesn't mean questions won't be answered, but by God, quit thinking your entitled to a "This will make you an expert" book to trade wars.
TW been around from a long time, by now there should be a moderate about of instruction to play and understand the game. Nobody is mentioning anything about instructions that make you elite or expert, just documention that entails how to play and understand the game in its basic forum.

In conclusion, the help I give is all you're going to get from me, so deal with it. If you think you can help someone better, feel free to do so.
Well deeply sorry to hear you say something like that. Thank you, for the offer and I will certainly be doing that, as I am more then happy to assist others in any fashion that I can.

Understand one thing though, I don't have to come here, I don't have to answer questions,
Really? I would have thought that to be an inherent function to perform as a member teamEIS. Especially, since you are the only admin staff that seems to be left on this board? [V]

and I sure as hell don't have to put up with your ****.
Sorry, you feel that way. Have you given much thought about resigning your position as a teamEIS Member?

I think you're under a mistaken impression here. I became "teamEIS Technical Lead" because I was in these forums answering questions. I moderate these forums and I answer questions on a volunteer basis. I don't get paid for it. I never have and I likely never will. Whenever everyone else has abandoned these forums (Rick, John, etc) I've continued to stay here answering questions. As players come and go, I stay here answering questions. Now you have the nerve to sit here and tell me what my tasks and duties are?

I have no problem with you writing one. Make sure it is all inclusive and 100% accurate and I'm sure John will add it to the game.

Sure there was. I found your post (probably the most detailed) and then 3 or 4 right towards the top that said you needed to change it in the configure screen. There was also a post from me saying where the .ans file had to be, since the configure screen wouldn't accept a path.

I never needed to ask someone for help on this. I looked at it and thought it obvious. Considering you say you couldn't find any help in these forums on it, I would make the assumption you figured it out on your own without too many problems, also.

You seem to think I dislike the idea of change. You are mistaken here. There are several changes I would be happy to see. There are others that I think are completely stupid :P For example, rather than making photon resistant ships I want the delays added that will even out the gap between photoner and photonee. However, John seems to feel no motivation to actually finish these changes he's worked on, so I don't know if we'll ever seen them :(

You have to understand the game as it is now before you can advance it. If you think that figging the MSLs somehow helps you control the universe, it's a logical conclusion that there will be many other things, particularly gameplay and strategy related, that you don't understand.

I've never come here and posed questions on how to do things, I figured them out myself. But I do understand your point here and there are things that would be better to have included. Once again, please feel free to write a better instruction manual for the game.

http://www.tw-cabal.com/ Although were the info built into the game, that would be even better. Once again, if you feel froggy, leap :)

So you realize that I am the only one who comes here and assists people that has any relationship to EIS, yet you want to critisize that help? What do you think that is likely to achieve? I don't want people to kiss my Butt, but it also really pisses me off when people want to ***** about the help I give.

As it is, I still like helping people. At some point those that want to ***** and critisize might get to me too much and I will leave. I definately wouldn't be the first.

Not to change the subject (ah-hem) but The death delay is on. I was SD several times and had to wait one day to get in. So that means Death-delay[?] is on.. or was. Don't know now.
And got most of the fed lanes hemmed in with 100k figs on offensive going to up it to 200k and 250 mines.
Speaking of Fed Shipping Lanes, let me ask a question here I was going to ask in the TW school since lots are probably reading this.
fed lanes are:
Sector 1 to StarDock.
StarDock to Sector 1
StarDock to Rylos
Rylos to StarDock
StarDock to Alfa
Alfa to StarDock
Alfa to Rylos
Rylos to Alfa

Am I right or does Sector 1 to Rylos and Alfa and back also count?

If you quit, I will hunt you down and beat you into coming back! 'Cause I don't really want to have to figure out who would replace you and somehow sucker them into doing it. [:D]

To think that at one point, I actually applied for that job. Shudder...

dupers are lame
sysops who play on their own board are lame
people who ***** about not having their hand held 24/7 are lame
harley is lame
hehe

i have a large post count for 3 reasons:
1. when i started i asked a lot of questions
2. when i learned, i started posting answers and opinions
3. i love me some smack talk

the point of a forum is not just ask a question, get an answer, it is also a place for the twars community to interact.

Heheh, Slim glad to see you back on the job, and posting, which means you survived Egypt.

Also on a side note, I now let Rexx off the hook, I had a bet I could get you riled up like you get Zilla and I won the bet, sorry, you do really have some posts that I really do agree with, and a few I don't, but that is life, we all won't agree on things all the time, and to me that is what makes this forum great, we can make our own entertainment at times to make things interesting.

Oh btw I know how to make a paragraph, I was on a train of thought and didn't care if it was in a paragraph.

For me when somebody says their gridding the MSL's I assume they are including all of FedSpace as well, because if you do not include FedSpace the oppostition has a way to sneak out anyways so it is pointless to even grid them, (assuming you have no other sectors in the area which are gridded.) Hence, to grid the MSL's you also need to grid FedSpace. As far as loosing the assests within the grid, the cost is not really that high in comparison to the overall benefits obtianed from the grid.

Now if your intent it to catch towaways then you will want to keep a few pocket sector open to catch all the ships from both SD and sectors 1-10, (as given to the configuration of the universe.) Otherwise there is rarely no difference in gidding within the MSL's or as well as around the MSL's and as well as up to serveral several sectors outside of the MSLs. The other player is going to be able to scan for your figs/mines anyways, they are going to know the are their. It's not like you can make them invisible. If they player is not pervvy as to what you are attempting to do, then they are not going to pose much of a challenge anyways and will more then likely loose the game.

Now controlling the backdoor to SD is another sector that gives you a distinct advantage, allowing you to catch off guard non-FedSafes with quickness and stealth. Controlling the class-0's allows you to force other players to burn up more turns and potentially fuel. This can also act as a blockade to prevent reds from equipping.

Controlling Sol and the area around it forces other players to burn more fuel during coloing as well and addionally, to those that don't mind using it (I think its a crummy tactic by the way), lockout previously SD'ed players back into the game ans so much as even wait for them to logback on and pod them again, thus either way are SOL unless they have a corpie to quickly save them.

Anyways, this is my deductive reasoning as to why I think these sectors are the most important within the game, and how my mind operations I associate them all with each other for the sake of general game play, though only differentiate them as related to when the Feds clear out the actual MSL's, (which, by the way I do realize what those are.) However, I should have clarified that more. Not everybody uses the same logic as me... which has become evermore apparent as I feel this stupid MSL thing was taken way out of proportion to begin with, (as it was just one example of many that I had decided to use.)
