I almost posted what board this was, but thought better of it. Ill take the higher road and just not play there, there are plenty of places to go.

I also have played on the server Exvex is referring to , I am dropping it , for several reassons , but the major reasson is that the sysop and cosysop play , and major megacorping betwen the sysop and his/her friends and family members. And also I know that the sysop is a honest good person but heck we all are human , therefore prone to cheating. As a cosysop myself I know how to use t-edit and man i rather not tempt myself with that much accesible power. It is like giving a match and a gas can to a pyromaniac.
I also em refrianing from posting on his/her forum because anything i say that may be inflamatory or "flame" like it will be deleted and i will be threatened with a ip ban.I will save him/her the trouble and go else where , where free speach is welcome (without racial overtones and crude gestures)

Well..... I certainly understand most of your viewpoints that any person that has access to T-edit should not play on their own servers. I just think it is unfortunate that the few who have done abused their power have ruined it for all of the other sysops out there.
I can think of 3 servers on which the sysops play in their own games and I would never suspect them of cheating and I enjoy playing some of the edits on their servers.
So.... I guess I am the only postee so far that still believes there are some good and honest people still out there.

Kaboom- I am with you in your viewpoint, its just that those few ppl you talk about have ruined it. It is human nature to suspect a sysop of cheating if they whoop up on ya, or at least think it. I think that fact makes it unfair to even attempt to play on ones own server, as it corrupts the overall experience for your players. Now, if a sysop were to say, run a closed game he plays in and invite certain ppl, thats all fine a dandy. But playing in public games is unfair to players if you cheat or don't.

Its not that we don't believe some sysops can play with our cheating on their own server, its why take a chance. If something fishy happens that the first thing that gonna come to your mind, I would rather play a game and not worry about it, theirs lots out their...

Well, I've played on my own games at TDS a few times. There have been times when I've won, and times when I have been absolutely hosed by the competition. I have also corped with a lot of people while on that server, people I've played with before, many of whom have been my opponents. Part of that is to demonstrate that I didn't cheat nor would I. I don't mind being beaten down, simply because when that DOES happen I learn what I did wrong and become a better player.
One who cheats can never claim such benefits, but only proves that he cares nothing for learning and only for winning, regardless of however empty that victory might be.
I have had only ONE accusation of cheating since I took over The Deep South several months ago, and that accuser quickly repented. He said he was just upset, and I later corped with him and showed him how we REALLY won, and he was very apologetic.
I figure then, this is the best practice if a game op plays on his own server. Corp with a lot of different people, even those who think you might be cheating (many times those players could use to learn a few things about TW anyway), and show them how you won the last game against them. And, just to make sure a game-op does lose a few games, invite Slim Shady, Jhereg, Alexio, big12ozhog, and RammaR to join a game on the same team against you. The accusations of your cheating will either be eliminated very VERY quickly -- OR, if you actually win...well...nah most if not all gameops wouldn't win.

there are plenty of sysops that could be trusted on their own server
Vader, Vulcan, River Rat, Rincrast, VidKid and probably some im not thinking of
as for all the others, why not go and play a game on their server if they are playing? it is not hard to tell if they are tediting
and Alt-F4, i completely disagree with your theory of if people have the power, they will use it.. i have played FPS games online, i have links to websites with multiplayer cheats for those games, and have never even though about clicking the link

Kaboom, you aren't alone in thinking there are some honest and good people out there,

as a rule i dont like sysops in game
But Vulcan you can play in game with me on your server, I trust you!
This shows you aren't alone, although I don't make it a habit to play my server and choose to play the back water servers to have some play time to learn some of the new tactics on. Sometimes there are game edits I experiment with and will check out myself and see it they are how I want them, however these times the game is a closed game and others are invited to help debug an edit. But as far as regular games I don't play in them just to keep the acusations away from my server, I want it to have any and all chances to be successful. I do invite any player to check out the games, however I might have to rebang a couple of games, I am just waiting to hear from others to make it official.
But Kaboom you aren't alone in thinking there are honest sysops and people out there,I also have played on servers where the syops played and there are some servers I will not ever go back to and some where I respect the sysop and will play again, but I will not ever play my server. Too much controversy in doing so.

Then locutis you are a better man then alot of others out there. My piont was not perticularly that a person could no resist , but eventually one time or another a person may adjust his/her bank number or fig count But as Vulcan has stated , he doesn't play on his server because the conterversy.......not because he will cheat. It is really up to the person....but as for me i rather not play on my server , to aviod accusations and conspirasy theory's.

Yes I don't play my server because of the controversy, and never would cheat on my server if I did play on it, like I said the only games I have ever played on my server were test games to check out some edits and those games were closed to the public and other players invited in to help debug the edits, but since then I have gotton better at making edits that these games are far and few in between them now, but I do like to play TW so I will visit some back water server from time to time to play a game or so and learn how to use the tactics and scripts that are out there to get better to finally get back on top of my game and finally return as a good player like I was in the past, I think I still have a long way to go to be on the level of the likes of Slim and company, especially Alexio,CK, Jh and the lot, to me they are the current greats and I can learn from them when I get the chance to play in a game with them in it. But for now I am rebuilding my game skills and knowledge.

Well, being a sysop who plays in at least 2 of his own games, I think I take exception to this. While I agree with a lot of what is being said about the few sysops who DO use T-Edit to achieve their win, the least you players can do is at least give that sysop a chance to prove that he or she doesn't use T-Edit for anything other than refurbing Terra. Don't presume that since the sysop plays his or her own games 'fishy' things will happen. If you go into a game with that attitude, power of suggestion will take over and every little thing that goes on will be considered 'fishy'.
Kaboom, my good friend..how're you doin these days? Been awhile since we've chatted.
As a side note. I'm in the process of moving again (sigh) only just across the property to the main house but it still means transferring my phone, dish, etc over to that house so I'll be sidelined for a little while longer.
