Heh, the problem with sysop scripts via tedit is how slow tedit is. Fixing something via tedit is fast enough, but detecting problems to edit in the first place isn't.
Alien farming is an especially tough nut to crack. How do you detect that someone is farming the aliens instead of it being a genuine alien attack and takeover of a player planet? I suppose you could just watch for any alien-owned planet with a cit level below 2 and take action, but it's not as easy as it may appear on the surface.
Back to sysop scripts, once I get my lib reading and writing, I suspect we'll start to see that sort of thing pick up. What's difficult and time-consuming to do with tedit will become a snap. Of course that also depends on me getting off my Butt and releasing the damned thing... [:)]

HOW CAN ANY ONE PERSON KNOW WHAT THE ENTIRE TW COMMUNITY THINKS? TRADEWARS IS A GAME OF STRATEGY! WE CAN PROBABLY ALL AGREE ON THAT. AFTER THAT PEOPLES OPINIONS START TO DIFFER. FIND THE SERVER WHO'S GAMEOP'S OPINION CLOSELY MATCHES YOUR OWN. OBEY THAT GAMEOP'S RULES WHEN ON HIS SERVER. BE HAPPY AND PLAY TRADEWARS.

Ok, ignoring the poorly typed and barely comprehensible post previous to this one..
I found some planets on a game recently in alien space built by another corp, so I figured they were farming. What I didn't know at the time was that it was so widely frowned upon and considered a bug. I simply took the ore for myself since I wasn't aware of the stigma associated with such a manoeuver, and blew the planets up.
I have also been in situations before where other corps have "ganged up" on me or shared information against my corp, but I assumed the megacorping line was only crossed if you started supplying other corps with fighters and ships and not attacking eachother in attempt to control the game.
Having read this thread, it's made me change my opinion of some of the players I've come up against in the past year -- mostly for the worse.
