quote:Blame it on the Muslims...
Yes Ender, I DO blame it on the Muslims. They're the ones currently busy blowing up, shooting and beheading everyone they can. I think the way you rationalize away their behavior is disgusting.

quote:I told you, its a ring, hate breeds for ingroance, ingroance breeds from poverty, poverty from war, and so the cycle continues.

Duh. But what you fail to point out is that every member of that cycle is a willing participant. Being poor and angry does not mean you will automatically metamorphose into a terrorist. Many people in this world are in hard circumstances, but very few choose to "rectify" their situation by becoming a suicide bomber or a terrorist. Anybody who wants to can pull themselves up out of the muck and at least try to make a better life for themselves can. You're a revolting, unamerican apologist. The meaning behind your words is that they are not to blame for their actions, we are. Somehow its magically our fault that they grow up to be terrorists and blow us up. Get your head out of your Butt or move to France. Better yet - both.

We're mixed up? Have you ever considered what the state of the world would be if America played isolationist and told the rest of the world to go to hell and deal with their own problems? Not only would many situations that DID happen turn out very differently (Europe would be a unified Nazi state), but many situations that never happened due to the mere threat of American involvement would have occurred. I can only imagine the ****ed up status some parts of the world would be in without our intervention.

Sure, we've stuck our noses into some situations that in hindsight we should not have, but many that we were right to, and if we weren't quick to act, certain parties would get much bolder ("Who's going to stop us? America?! Bahahah they won't even trade with anyone anymore since they became isolationist xenophobes.") and make some really stupid moves.

Oh, and as far as the Brazilian who was shot in the London subways the other day - he was NOT shot because of racial profiling. You're just an idiot Ghoury. Check your facts before you post such drivel. The police reports are very clear. That man was seen leaving a house under surveillance as part of the investigation of the second round of subway bombings. He headed to the subway where he hopped over the turnstyle instead of using his pass to go through. He was wearing large, bulky clothes that could easily have concealed a bomb. And most importantly, he refused to heed police officers when they ordered him to stop so they could search him.

Sure, it turns out they were wrong and he didn't have a bomb, but you can't blame them for thinking he might have. As far as I'm concerned, the police aren't responsible for his death, he is. If a cop points his gun at you and orders you to stop, then you stop. Simple. He chose to disregard the police officers and so got himself killed.

If people were to report these sus-picious things that appear out of the ordinary ....
If only kids would report su****ious activity of their parents to the local authorities...

Is this a reach? God I hope it is a reach. Next thing you know we are going to have hundreds of police investigations based soley on kids upset because they wanted to play TradeWars and the parents said no do your homework first. Anyone can say anything to "hurt" another person just by saying they abused me by taking away my cell phone, they wouldn't let me do what I wanted. In todays society even an accusation can be a career ending, financial ruin type of punishment for doing what you believe to be the right thing, My wife let 2 teenagers run rampant because she was scared of the kids saying that because she grounded the kids it could/would be considered child abuse.

I was abused as a child.... I got punished when I did something in school that was against the rules; then I got punished again when my parents found out what I did. My parents abused me; they sided with the authority figures. Now this is somewhat off topic but if we extrapolate this to terrorism how much different is it? Do we take the word of a terrorist or do we take the word of a "child" as to what happened.

Oh btw I have a problem navigating stardock... can we eliminate the mugging aspect because I am too lazy to learn the correct keystrokes.
There is a set of rules whether "rules to live by" or rules as to how the "game" is played, and the only way to get better is to either follow these rules or come up with something that a majority of people can agree on that your rules are better. That is something that Islam lacks it is the "it's our way or the highway" mentality that is forcing these terrorists to do what they are doing.

They are too ignorant to realize that compromise is the glue that holds civilization together.

Before I get flamed for this; let me qualify ignorance... you can adapt to ignorance , you can not adapt to stupidity.

I dont even want to talk about this anymore. Its obvious both sides are stuck, you forget that America stood by wile Isarel oppressed the muslim people of the Gazastrip and West bank. You forge that America helped establish Isarel, which was a good thing, but caused death and destruction for many innocent women and childern.

Again, ingorance breeds hate...please do both sides of your history exam.

First you complain that we're the world police and stick our noses in where they don't belong, then you complain that we don't interfere enough? Laff.

And yes, ignorance does breed hate. Everytime you glorify your own ignorance, it makes me hate you a little more.

Well smokey, looking thru all the post and reading and reading, you are the one who seems to think everyone gets info from CNN. I saw that in I think 3 post from you. Somehow you must see what people are say when YOU watch CNN. I personally do not watch CNN or any news for that matter. I get all my info from TWFORUM. And reading posts in this thread is very, very enlightning. I couldn't express my feelings, thoughts, or opinions that well.
Slim, very nice. Rexx very nice. And the quiz by Psion should show some light to the ignorant people that think we are just bullies that want to get oil. If we are getting oil breaks from IRAQ why is gas so freakin high?
Grow up and relize the world is a ****ed up place and we have to do things not all people agree with so we can have our freedoms.
My father server as a Marine in Korea, My Grandfather a Marine also, served in Korea and WWII. When I grew up I was taught to hate russians. I was taught to honor the US at all costs. I love this country even tho I do not agree with all our policies. BUt ya know, I can disagree, I can even write about it here, and I won't have my family shot, raped, tourtured because I do not agree with all that the government says. Need I say more? OR should I have another shot and STFU. OKay another shot it is.

Let me ask you one question Psion;

Has America ever turned their back on the muslim people as they were attacked? murdered? killed? Has America ever done anything to provoke attack?

No?
The Prison scandal in Iraq, prisoners beaten and tourtured.
Guntomao Bay, the quran pissed on, defaced, etc.
Turning our back in 1991 when the norther Iraq rebel army tried to overthrow Saddam, consquently causing hundereds of thousands of deaths by posion gas.
Closing our eyes as Isarel oppresed the people of Lebanon and Syria.

We have done nothing to deserve any thing have we? America is always right, what we say goes, our ideas are king, and no one else can have any say so in anything.

So you say America is spreading DEMCORACY around the world for people to be free, really and truly, some people do not need to be so called "free" they would rather serve their higher purpose, Allah, or their cause.

In America we put our nose into situations it doesnt belong, and then we turn around and close our eyes in situations where it does belong.

Do some research, you have to see that while the tragic loss of innocent life is horrible, and needs to stop, its not like they just started saying, "hey, maybe we should attack America, that would be fun!" You do know that America put binLaden in a postion of power in Afghanistan? Giving him weapons and such to fight off the soviets, see back then it was US vs Russia, communist vs Democracy. Then we put Suddam in power in Iraq, gave him WMD to fight off Iran, trying to crush the rise of the shah of Iran.

You see, America but binLaden in a postion of power, and then destroyed his postion when his use was gone.

America put Saddamn in power, and destroyed him when he served his purpose.

AMERICA HAS DONE NOTHING YOU SAY? I say your full of **** Psion. Take your *****ing to someone else, America has started the war, now we have met an enemy that we cannot defeat with threats and war, we can only solve with deplomacy, much like ISarel is finally trying to do with the muslims of Gaza and WestBank.

Wake up you stupid mofo.

no they are taught to hate America becuase we have oppressed their people, killed their fathers, murdered their mothers, destroyed their brothers. We have watched the oppression of muslims by Isarel, we have given power to those who wish to oppress, and even more power to those who wish to teach the wrong way to go...

ITS OUR OWN FAULT!

Oh boy, he watches Fahrenheit 9/11 and all of a sudden he's a pundit. Laff.

Have we ever turned our backs on people in need? Yup. And so has every single country on the face of this planet. But we are THE go-to guys for international aid. We don't help everyone, but we do much more for the international community than any other country, by far.

Abu Ghraib and Gitmo? Yeah, fubars on our part. But both were still situations MUCH more pleasant than what Saddam's prisoners went through. Oh gee some freaky girl stripped you naked and took your picture? Boo hoo. Some people pay good money for that. And regardless, it's still better treatment than Saddam's prisoners got. Idiot. Again, you're a disgusting apologist. Whatever happened at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo were (a) AFTER 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq and (b) does not in any way justify terrorist attacks.

quote:We have done nothing to deserve any thing have we? America is always right, what we say goes, our ideas are king, and no one else can have any say so in anything.

Don't try to feed me that crap. I've forgotten more about American foreign policy than you'll ever know. Sure we've made mistakes, but at least we're trying to make the world a better, safer place. If it was up to idiots like you, Saddam would still be in power committing systematic rape and torture. Is that really what you would prefer?

quote:In America we put our nose into situations it doesnt belong, and then we turn around and close our eyes in situations where it does belong.

Well perhaps you'd care to run for president so you can pick and choose and always be sure we help in exactly the right places and at exactly the right times. I'm terribly sorry that we're not perfect, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. You have the advantage of hindsight, and you're still too stupid to interpret the past.

quote:You do know that America put binLaden in a postion of power in Afghanistan? Giving him weapons and such to fight off the soviets, see back then it was US vs Russia, communist vs Democracy. Then we put Suddam in power in Iraq, gave him WMD to fight off Iran, trying to crush the rise of the shah of Iran.

Yes, I knew that we set up Osama and Saddam. So what? Every nation with the power to has set up puppet dictators when and where they could. I'm not saying its a good thing, but its not uncommon and we're far from the only country to do it. Its not new or shocking. Its not some great revelation that will sweep us all off our feet. Oh, and re-read your history books, jerky. The Shah was our buddy, he was one of our pet dictators. We backed Saddam when he was fighting Khomeini, who deposed the Shah.

I actually did click those links, and saw that there was nothing there I didn't already know and some that is suspect. And I'm still going to call you a dumbass. Dumbass!

You quite obviously only superficially understand the arguments you're putting forth. You're a proganda recycler, thats all. You have no grasp of history and seem to think that the smallest of provocations are somehow justifications for mass murder. None of the so-called "points" you've raised can hide the fact that you're a terrorist apologist. Your stance tacitly approves of their actions and I find that both disgusting and disturbing. We did NOT bring this on ourselves. Whatever mistakes we may have made in the past do not in any way justify mass murder.
