in the past i've mainly been the builder on the corps i've been with and never really had the need to really kill others as we always had some good killers on the corp as a rule. i recently have taken a couple of newbies under my wing and now i'm the one that is suppose to do the killing. the problem is i have no kill scripts and can't make sense of swath's help section for importing scripts. i need help as to what kill scripts i should get and where to get them. i'm basically computer challenged so if someone could tell me step by step how to import them. start with how and where to down load them into my computer and how to get them from there into swath. then how do i trigger them to wrk. i figured out the quick macro record on swath, but how do you use the hammer to record a macro-save it-then triger it to run. also what are the best gridding scripts to get and planet-port trade scripts? i've played for years now it is time to move to the next level of play i guess.

thanks for your help in this - btw you will be helping the newbies out as well as i will pass this onto them. [:D]

First off, do you use TWX with Swath?

If you do, you can get a wide range of scripts at http://www.grimytrader.com. Download the scripts into your twx/scripts folder.

If you are going to kill, use macro's. In my opinion it's the safest way and most effective way to do it. I have attack macros set to my f keys. For example, a y 9999 ^m, a n y 9999 ^m, q q a y 9999 ^m l m n t ^m c, or q q a n y 9999 ^m l m n t ^m c. These are the four I have always set. The last two being used for planets, I have to be careful with because of there are two planets in sector, i'm screwed. I'm no way near good at killing when comparred to others out there, but I find this is the best way to start. To set the macros to your F keys, you need to first make the macro and name it, then go to triggers and set a key to trigger the macro you made and named in swath. Just remember what keys you use as triggers, and always use those keys.

As far as gridding scripts go, the best public script out is Rammers twarp gridder. It's the most used by far. It has tons of options on it, and can really make it hard to get torped with. There are several threads already done on this, and Harley did a good long post on most of the options that Rammers t-warp gridder has to offer. http://www.eisonline.com/twforum/topic. ... s=Gridding

Lastly, Planet-Port trade scripts. If you are wanting to do world planet trades, the only one I know that is public are Supg's and I BELIEVE Caretaker. Both are at Grimy Traders. This is not an effecent way of trading because it will use a ton of ore off of your planet to move around, but can be good to get some MCIC's of ports for later use. A lot has been talked about this as well in several threads.

O.k. this is the longest post i've done in about a year, so i'm gonna end it and let y'all start throwing your monkey waste at me now.

Dont forget about the pain in the rear setup you have to do in SWATH under the Preferences Scripts Page 1 and Page 2, referring to the JAVA Console!

Page 1
If you want to use Java scripts, I dont know which file you actually need to use? I installed the developer one by mistake (that dang thing was like 300-megs after it was all said and done!) but hey, it works now so I am not messing with it, anymore! hehe

This is were you also place your Rexx/ZOC directory, if you want to try that out as well.

Page 2
This will need to point to your scripts directory and/or TWX directory. I guess you can use RevHelper with it as well, I never actually heard any mention of being used with SWATH? There is a spot for it to point to though.

These pages will allow you to select scripts through the SWATH popup menus, found under Scripts on the top of the window, as SWATH uses these directories to load/compile all of the available scripts within them each time you start SWATH up.

Well with the macros, you don't have to worry at all about setting up your scripts in Swath. However, it is very simple to set up twx proxy to use them as triggers in swath. All you have to do is have the twx scripts on page 2 point to your scripts directory. Then in the triggers, select twx option.

I've never messed with any java scripts, because I don't see any reason to. Everything I need is in twx form, or I can macro it.
