sorry the server at Eagles nest was down, I was rubbed yesterday while I was asleep. they unpluged everything. but it's back up, but my $1200 Dell, $20 monitor, and $750 printer are all gone.

I got hit about 3 months ago for around 5k in electronics, fortunately our lil home based biz insurance covered most of it, cops did same thing took a phone staement never came out at all, want one of us to come to station to fill out complaint (WHAT?). I really do feel for ya dude!

Wow, thats a change of pace huh? Dell's are more reliable than Compaq's or HP so that is what I use. They are cheaper, price wise, but much higher quality in my book. I have had my Dell for along time, and I have never had any hardware problems, only software issues with Windows (Kicks Bill Gates)

Well the Dell was a computer I used for my company that was best for running, my 6.5M item database, and it's one of the best computers I've found for networking. If I didn't need it for work and I just gamed on it, I'd say fark it I'm building one.

sounds to me wyhteagle like your just a consumer. you need a floppy,
a cord, you run to Office Depo. I have been building my own computers
first was in 1980. (i could have been a APPLE [:D]) there are 2
kinds of systems today, Desktops and Workstations.
Dells,compaqs,Gateways are desktops,made for the consumer, the
mading public. a use 1 year throw away system.
all the systems i build (i need a TV show MONSTER computer)
are workstations (you run for 5 years). its your life
its your money, do as you wish, just a sugestion.

Building a setup is much better, you get exactly what you want at a fraction of the cost, for most computer companies to get the cheap deal they advertise you have to mail in a rebate form, and usually they have a ton of restrictions and time frames attached, I have bought only 2 computers in my life, and didn't like them and started building my own ever since. I enjoy the freedom of picking and choosing exactly what I want in my system.

By the way wyhteagle, I know how you feel, I had the same thing to happen to me a few years ago, except they didn't take my electronics, they took the next easiest thing to pawn easy, my tools, about 20k dollars worth of them. So I know how you feel.
