Yeah, Speed Demon has proved to be quite the allie when organizing this site, and has done a super job getting the hosting and registration form togther. Now i'm just wondering how many sign ups we will have, i'm hoping this to be one of the biggest games in the history of TW.

The big thing is getting buy-in from the newer players. You need to bring them in, with a promise of a chance to learn.

Looks to be interesting. July 9th, huh? OK, count me in. I might be out of town for the first day or two, but I can run bots...maybe.

I'll see if I can convince Saarducci to play too; shouldn't be too hard. Gotta finish cleaning up that one game on our server first..

I apologize for the change but the ceo's decided that July 9th is too far away and we don’t want the game to lose steam. Signups will End June 5th. Hit the link below and sign up for the next big draft game !!!

Yes it is true the start date has been moved to Sunday June 26th. I will get the web site updated with the new dates as soon as I get a chance.
If this change will be a problem for you or you will no longer be able to show up to the game please send an email to corpwars@tw-foundation.com and place Corpwars Reg in the subject line.

We are still hoping to get a few more of the newer players in to this game. This will be one of the best opportunities for you learn a few tricks from some players who have a lot of experience under their belts and to make a few friends who you can corp. with in other games. I do promise you that you will learn something new in this game if you put a little time and effort into it and listen to what the other players are telling you.

Please note the changes to the games sign up end, and the game start date. Both have been updated on the web site, and for now it looks like the game will open at the listed date and time. Subject to change of course!
30 people in 3 days really rocks, I hope that by the time signups are closed we have 50 people, that would be a great stride for tradewars. Knowing that the community is indeed still alive.

50? I'm looking for 70-80. I know we can do it. This is going to be a great game for new players and older players alike. The new players get a chance to see how trade wars is played on a competative level, the experienced players get a kick Butt competative game.

I would hope that if the game gets beyond 75, that a 4th team is thought about. BG3 was an example of just to many people for one CEO to handle without alot of good support players. I do hope some of the other "experienced" players show, considering that the "elite" community is mostly gone these days.

Ooops, sorry speed, wasn't aware. Good job anywas. Site looks good, and is easy to navigate.
As a side note, here are the results from the 2003 and 2004 TW Awards
BEST GAME PLAYED
(17) Big Game 2
(13) BOTE 2003
(13) Lord of the Rings
(9) USO 2003
(8) Big Bertha - UltimateTW.com
BEST GAME PLAYED
(19) Killer Instinct - Low turn series
(16) The Corporate Wars
(11) Big Game 3.1
(4) BOTE 2004
(1) USO
Notice the trend? Big Game, Corp Wars edits. This could be the game that gets voted #1 in next years Awards? Wouldn't you want to take part in that?
If you want to learn, and are willing to play turns then i suggest you sign up.

I hope that we get atleast enough for 4 teams. I believe it goes somethign like this, 15 per team, so hopefully more than enough for 4 solid teams. I'm not sure how hard it is to CEO a massive team like this, but I think that the experince levels of Stockton Gemini and Kemper all signify they can deal with atleast 15, maybe more.

Personally, I would rather have 30 people on my corp than 12-15. I can't manage 12-15 newbies by myself. However, if I have 30 people, I'll be able to have at least a few people to help with the day to day running of the corp. As the only CEO has has done both large corp and smaller corp draft games, I would hope my input in this would be listened to.

Basically, in a game like this, you need 1 experienced person at keys at most times, and 2-3 during high actions periods, like evenings. With only 15 people on a corp, you can't have this, which means the ceo and 1-2 other experienced people have to take on a lot more. That's why people get burned out after these draft games and you rarely get people willing to ceo for one more than once.

Your input is noted. And I think that its about 50/50 per "Who's playing" form of noobs to veterans. I think that if you even only had 15 on your team, your bound to get atleast 5 good solid players. I do believe that it would be fair to the noobs in the game to have 4 corps if there are more than 15 players to a team just so the CEO can manage his time better at training them.
