You make that sound like a bad thing. I think many of you would be pleasantly surprised. No guns, No gangs, lots of beer and strippers that take it ALL off.

No guns??? What's so darn pleasant about that?
....

I wonder what the founding fathers would say about the first amendment (specifically freedome of speach/press) today if they knew about cable television, the internet, etc. I certainly don't think they believed that poor journalism could affect the lives of dozens of people half way around the world hours after a story is published. It all makes me sick; but what can we do about it?

Holy smoke! Ender posts a thread saying that we should pray for Stonewall (which I agree) and it goes nuts.
I do pray for him and other friends over there for their safety.
I do fervently believe that God is in TOTAL control of EVERY situation. How He works sometimes (ok, many/most times) I don't completely understand. I'm finite in my thinking; He is not. I trust Him to work out His promise in Romans 8:28 for me as His child and others who are His children; He's never failed.
Anyway, I'd love to talk to any of you about that aspect of things. I think all of my IM accounts are logged.

Rincrast,
I hope that Stonewall gets back okay, sorry about my part in this flame contest, I was trying to get some of the people to see that some of the contries overseas don't like us much and will do anything to do harm to us wheather it is political or phyical, and even on a religioius basis, as being a soldier over seas a lot I have seen a lot of this and someday hope that it will all come on to an end and with a peaceful outcome, but I fear it will not. Because of fanatics that hide behind their religon and not really respecting their own religous teachings.
Although I agree with what Psion and some others are saying, this thread really doesn't need to be a flame thread, so lets all get into a TW game and take out our frustrations there.

wow, this kinda blew up a bit, heh.
one thing...
when did we put saddam in power?
exactly.
(answer is: we didn't)
we *helped* him against iran, yes.
but he was in power long before that.
(i believe he killed his father to gain control?)

Slim...we had the proof that that Saddam Hussein had the WMD prior to the 1st Gulf War. We (the USA) either gave or sold the chemical agents to Iraq during the conflict between Iran and Irag that lasted a few years. I'm not sure which agent we transfered but one of them was a nerve agent and the other was a a blood agent. Iran used one and Irag used the other. As to other issues it might amuse others to check the family histories of both Bush and bin Ladan when they were childhood friends playing with each other while their fathers were discussing oil deals.

I went to the 1st Gulf War and it really was no picnic. One of the reasons we are going back is because we were not allowed to finish it the first time. Kuwait and Saudi (and others) were/are actually more afraid of Iran than Iraq and Iraq acts as a buffer between them. Jesus Christ, God, Allah, Budda et all, my hopes and prayers for all the military deployed from this great nation of ours wherever they may be!
