Hmmm.... Lots of good thoughts about the game and topic of 'Bug/Spoof' usage and how it relates to the game in general. How one feels about it depends still whether game is going to be played for daily fun or win at any cost using any tactics available whether ethical or not. ROFL...back to my earlier post about whether one is 'pregnant' or 'in a family way'. "But daddy...he told me it could never happen the first time...and he told me he was only going to put it in a tiny bit!" WOW! Following that line of reasoning we could excuse anyone for any kind of game behavior right? [;)]

To me this seems to be what a big game should be like.. Maby I got a whicked sence. But to me a big game should be to win, ethics.. ya I have them but its war... I won't cheat but I don't necessarly use ethics either.... Just a thought, but at the same time I wouldn't do those tatics in just a regular game, only a big style one that has more on the line. Peeps should expect that, look at past ones, none have been nice to play in....

have you been in war? are you or have you ever been in the military? if you would like to truely compare WAR and a frickin text based game, be my guest, but it makes you sound like a fool.

To me this is just a game to be won at all cost, but not be needed to compare to war.

Yes we can use scripts to cheat a bit, I don't necessarily play that way, but in war you have to sometimes circumvent the enemy's defenses any way you can, from electronic measures to the counter measures, this can be applied to the game in a sense, I have been in war, and know the price of it, I am paying for it today, and would proudly do it again,if needed. But to win at the cost of honor I would not! This I apply to the real thing as well as the game.

I think in the game we can use the scripts to counter other scripts legitimately, and see if our counters can be countered as well, this is how war is done, coming up with a straegy to get around others defenses and prepare for ours to be coundered as well, but unlike war this is just a game played for fun, and learn from the better players, not to use bugs in a game to win, we need to look at flaws in our scripts, which can be our defenses, and try to prepare a way to defend from counters to them, but make the counters as per rules of the game, and respect those rules and the players playing, knowing you may have to play them again someday. But also on the same note, TW is called Trade Wars, which is a war game, not war. So remember what rules apply and play accordaingly, and most of all have fun playing, while beating the pants off the opposition, and if you are the ones being beat, have fun anyway and remember it is only a game. If someone beats you by making a counter for your script then work on a counter for theirs.

But I don't think you had your post directed at me Slim and this one isn't directed to you , it is to clarify something in the game for others, is losing ones honor to win worth it?

Think about this, sometimes winning is everything, and you have to do what you have to do to win, it is how you feel afterwards and how others feel towards you afterwards as well. Will the respect still be there?

This depends on the game and how the rules of it are presented, the same as war, there are rules of engagement, and boundaries that can be pushed, it is knowing which are the ones that can be pushed and the ones best left alone, that are important. I have a respect for the real thing and the game, and choose wisely which ones I push and which ones to leave alone, and usually sleep well knowing I made the right choices, for me, and how to deal with the responsibilities these choices open.

I'll only put in my short 2 cents. Since this was a known bug, and fixed 7-8 months ago, along with other bugs in saveme. But a corp chose instead to not use it does that change it? Similar to using a bad macro? If you don't take the time to use the proper thing is there any error on their side. Sure the bot argument, I won't argue over if u "needed" to use it. But using an old version of a script with bugs in it, and known holes? That seems really close to using a bad macro and dying.
