Can anyone out there recommend some good old school servers with aliens to fight, Ferrengi to kill, the ferrengi homeworld to assault, players who work in corporations and try to take over the universe?? Everywhere I have gone has just been a "lets see who has the most bling and the biggest collection of planets" and I am looking for more of the old school game play, where a group of guys build up a strong base and take out the other corp's and destroy ferrengal and claim victory, not guys who roam the universe with 1 million fighters killing guys in scout marauders. Anyone who knows of any good games out there tuned to the older style of play let me know please. Thanks a bunch

Alienbase runs a few games, B (Call to Battle) and F (oldie but goodie) usually aren't too crowded and are mostly low key, but you will want to get into them soon after they bang.

Blacksuntwgs has a decent solo game too.

Otherwise, just look in the re-bang section here and keep joining games till you find one you like. Old School games aren't all that popular anymore, so it may take a while to find what you are looking for.

I have a couple of games on my server that usually run old school and have a good player following, one is an unlimited turn game where the main goal is to capture the three Paradise planets and hold them for a determined time and be the winner. And the aliens in that game are hard, they even make the Ferrengi run and hide, these aliens are the Necromongers. And they are in very powerful ships. These ships are usually what is needed to capture a Paradise planet. Both the ships and planets are hard to capture and this is one of the few unlimited games I know that lasts more than a few days. Mainly because of the goals of the game, and there are other games on my server that players take a liking to, and I am getting ready to rebang some games in a few days and I have a forum to which I post the game bangs and rebangs in as well as any other info from the server, the server is relatively new and so far doing okay. And I listen to players suggestions and requests for edits, and either will see if I can get an edit or make it myself for the players. And you can also go to Kumori's Cove for some old school games, most of them are like the old days of TW and are not bad, and there is a few other servers out there that do the old school games too. I will try to look up some of them and post them in here for you as well, I like Alienbase myself, have played there some. Sorry this post is so long!

basically the key is to join a game when it is just opened.
if you are joining a game that has people running around with millions of fighters... the game is already won and over, just move on until you find a fresh game

You have that right Slim, and I will be rebamging the Game A ( The God's Playground) this Sunday if any are interested with rules to win. And will be rebanging a couple more games too, if the players have reached a decision by then on who won, letting them have the last fight and finally say who won, players can be fickle and petty sometimes, oops! did I say that? I am a player too as well! lol [:D]

Slim this is a different type of unlimited that you are used to, but you are invited to check it out, just watch the aliens called the Necromongers. They do make the game interesting!
