Is there a good article somewhere that goes into depth on the economy of the RED player? I've red the stuff at cabal and didn't really see and in-depth (guide, what have you) to playing RED. I'm looking for something that explains the tactics of SST and SDT in detail.
As a predominate BLUE player I am trying to expand my knowledge of playing RED. Got the whole SSM and have setup some SST but don't seem to be effective with it.
Any suggestions or ideas guys?
Thanks,

Well cabal gave me enough information to get it started. Lemme give an example of my problem.
I buy two colts w/250 equip plop them in a sector w/i 7 hops. I buy personal merchant freighters for each sector and 1 scout maruader to fake bust. Then I put a planet under each port. I have 15k exp and 250k cash on me. I run SupG SDT script and it goes for like 10 seconds and then its done. I'm confused how I am supposed to make money. I've also tried the script that comes w/ATTAC also. All the ships numbers are right and such but I am unable to produce any results.
Maybe I should try it at keys instead of script to understand the mechanics behind the SST and the SDT. What do you think?

This actually confuses alot of new reds. They bust a couple of times and dont see how they're making any money. If you're busting before you get to sell (which will happen once in a while) you're not going to make money. As long as you've got enough experience, you will eventually get some good runs (with a good MCIC on the port, I've seen people make 10M before they bust). It works better if you've got a blue standing by to sell to the ports you're busted at and move your cashing ships to the next location, or another red ready to run your busts. When you play red, no matter how many points you have you're still going to bust, sometimes you'll bust alot. TW-cabal has all the info you need to learn and do well with red. Hope this was the info you were looking for.

Yeah I've read cabal quite a bit and understand the dynamics of playing RED but the two SST and SDT cause me grief. I try a fake bust w/scout but it seens like SupG script stops then. Is there a script you would recommend for SST and SDT?
Thanks,

Sounds like you might be trying to go over the same ports you busted at. I'd say your best bet is running with someone that might be able to help go over it with ya.

Lucky Dog,
Glad you found help. Is there some way I could change my site to make it more clear? e-mail me if you want.

Incidentally, a red can always successfully p-negotiate at a port they're busted at.

Ok.
i guess i'll do it.
I will do a write up of the basics of running red.
Also, eventually i will update some of my old write ups to look prettier and then i will figure out how to put them up on my website.

i lied.
i started, then i checked out the cabal and really, how much more indepth does it need to be? i am thinking you just didn't find it.

there are some things that could be added, like what settings you want to look at before deciding to become a red, etc.. but really, traitor has the work already done that needs to be done.

Best way to learn how to play red is sign up for this new draft game and play a red...there will be several reds in there that will show you how to play it...learning how to sdt/sst is only part of playing red, learning how to stay alive is just as important if not more...learning how to bust planets for experience while everyone is trying to kill you at SD is just as important...
I leanred how to play red by some awesome red players...that is what i sugest you do...
