just cause you talk alot don't mean you know anything. I have always felt I would rather play with someone that asks questions, rather than someone who has all the answers.

Elites eh
blah
You mean the best of the best...?
That's changed a lot since I have been playing. As far as players go- - understanding the edits and making the most out of them effectively shows good game understanding and knowledge. There are many active players that can do this. Many that I once knew- no longer actively play.
- being able to effectively grid and understanding how someone else is, and being able to challenge their gridding ability is another good ability that the good players show. (anyone can blind line grid- but I said effective gridding)
- I also thing unlims versus turn games have different choice players. They all do have similar skills sets. I also think there are certain players that excell in one or more of these catigories and maybe not all of them.
- that's some of the things that " I think " makes good players...In most games- we need good corps though. A single individual can't excell without good support. So whenever you consider a person for being a great hunter or killer or strategist- look at his support group and give them the respect they also deserve!
Cheers - Happy New Year!

I must say I totally agree w/ Jman and Oz on this.....TW is a "team" player game. U can't truely be "elite" w/o great support players. And in my mind....all the really great players I have worked with knew how to LEAD and how to SUPPORT other corpies.
Ability to adapt and wear many hats so to speak makes one the "elite" player!
Elite (Not used as a slur here....lol, but used as a sign of respect to those who have taken the time and managed the skills to become great players in a very challenging game)
Thanks to all the "elites" who have taken the time to show me how the little things u do can really make a difference and tried to make me a better player as well!
As to my vote for active elites:
Jhereg, OZ, Alexio, and BC...those dudes know the games and how to exploit any edits to their advantage!!
inactive elites:
Doc Who, Diddy <sorry as to avoid butchering the spelling of his handle will use nickname...[:D]>

i seriously doubt you've read 100% of my posts. luckily, EIS has this nifty feature that allows you to go and read past posts.
enjoy some of the Questions i've asked. you might learn something

Heh
Very interesting… I know it was kinda a newbie question coming from me but I wanted see what everyone else thought on this subject and there seems to be two different opinions about who and what an elite is.
I personally don’t like using the word elite I think the word gets thrown around a lot.
I totally agree with Oz, Uncle Sam, and Jhereg the best of the best are the best not only because of there own skills but because they are complemented by other good players for support. They are people who have put a lot practice time into games in order to better understand game mechanics so that they might be able to seal that win every time. Also seems to me that most of the really good players have picked up scripting to complement there game knowledge although I wouldn’t say being able to write a script is what makes you a good player.
I have said it before. I believe a large part of Tradewars is mindset if you believe that a player is so much better then you it keeps you 2nd guessing what you are doing giving them an advantage in some situations.
Off the top of my head I can think of about 5-10 people I would call the best players in the game today since everyone of them have already been listed somewhere else in this thread I am not going to list them again but I am going to say thanks to them for keep me on my toes and telling me what I did wrong when was playing against you.
