Hey y'all,

As an old timer who's just begun playing again I survived my first all out assault on a developed home base today but I have a couple of questions that are puzzling me.

First, according to my shipboard computer one invader died FOUR times from cannon blasts. I thought it's 3 and out. Is that a configurable number (deaths, I mean) or is there a glitch somewhere?

Second, I was also under the impression that if you're destroyed in a sector with an L6 planet that has interdictor turned on, your pod stays in that sector. That didn't happen today either. Or rather it happened to invader #2, but not the first guy who got killed 4 times. Am I wrong about pods and interdictors? I'm going off what I faintly think I remember from 10 years ago :)

thanks,

JR

Okay, can't answer everything based on not knowing edits....BUT....

1.) Death Delay could be turned off, which would account for multiple pods.
2.) If you SHIP kill someone, a PIG will hold them in sector most of the time. If they enter sector and pod, their pod leave.

It could have been death delay off, or it could possibly have been twice before extern, twice after extern. As to a PIG holding a pod, it has no effect on it. If you are podded by a cannon, your pod will always go to the game defined previous sector. You can check out http://www.tw-cabal.com/strategy/podlocations.html for more info on what would be your previous sector. If you are killed ship2ship, your pod will flee to a semi-random location. Contrary to somewhat popular belief, I have never seen any actual testing that backed up the idea that a PIG will affect pod flee. That is just a myth.

Did exturn run during all of this?

Could count for the 4 deaths, was he #SD# out after the 4th death or was he in a pod?

Thanks for the suggestions all. Ok, I was just wrong about a PIG holding pods. Been too long and my memory was never all that great anyway :). But the 4 deaths were all during the day, no extern involved. He was indeed #sd# after the 4th. I say 4 based on my computer messages. The daily log shows him ship destroyed only twice. Heh...come to think of it, maybe I should just split the dif. (4+2)/2 = 3. No problem!

I didn't get a screen shot but the first death, per my computer, it just said "ship destroyed" but not what type of ship. The other 3 reports mentioned ship type. I couldn't find what the death delay is set to to check. I looked at the settings (both "S" and "*") and didn't see it, either I overlooked it or it just wasn't there. But I suspect it's the typical 3 deaths and the computer report was screwed up somehow. Would be nice to know, though. I need to pay their base a visit and playing solo I kinda need to maximize my deaths. :)

Thanks again.

JR

each podding counts as a death, so if he mothed more than 3 times in one day, there can't be a death delay. after your third moth you dont get a pod, you are just gone with death delay on.
