u can have the best scripts, but if you don't understand why they work, or what they do, it does no good. i think my strategy is one of the best, ask as many questions as possible, and play with as many different people as you can. as for benifiting from getting podded, it deals with resources. if you #SD# someone right after extern, its an advantage to you almost all the time, as they lose a whole day of turns, while u lose some resources, but can regain them, if you cap them before extern, u lose resources, maybe they lose some, but they come back soon, so if you lose more than them podding/#SD#ing them, you lose. lots of other stuff, but it just comes to resource management. ive never played with dida, but from what he says, he is good (hehe) so i assume he has a good understanding of resource management.
anywho, thats all i wrote, heh

It's a question of odds and what podding you does to your enemy's alignment and experience. Also, whether or not you're forcing them to eat corbo.

kemper pretty much hit it. also, controlled poddings early on in a game often have a much larger impact than poddings late in the game where people have more figs than what is on their ship. with the proliferation of attack macros and the recent upsurge in the desire to kill everything that moves, it is usually pretty easy to take advantage of this mindset.

People put too much emphasis on the role of attack scripts in a game.
I think there are a lot of people out there that have proved time and time again that a good attack macro is every bit as good as an "attack script."
Anyone can write a macro, I do, but I'm slow on the draw, some of these younger players would do just fine learning how to write their macros and execute them.

Ok so early in the game, get a crap ship with a lot of carbo on it, and find someone running an attack script and have them pod you. Make sure you have 0 figs and 137 shields, or whatever to throw off their attack script into getting carboed. I assume one of those 0.5 def odds ships would do nicely as a fireship.
Meanwhile your stuff is stashed away along with the good ships, your planet, collies, corpies, etc in a safe sector.
Make sure you use most of your turns before doing this, right? To maximize your cashing, and pfarming, gridding, etc. That way if you get #SD# you just wait until you get another ship.
An attack macro is good, but usually it is overkill and can cause a carbo reaction if you hit them with 9999 figs each time, etc. Which is why I avoid ship combat if possible and focus on finding planets and raiding them and stripping them bare before the other player or corp gets online. Nothing like seeing their reaction to taking back their planets only to find nothing on them. [:)]

All good strategies, yet, the max corbs a ship can carry is 6000. If you have a loaded ship and it has good fig shield compliment, believe me it's worth taking a major corb hit to get rid of a good player.
Corbs haven't destroyed me in a good many years to be honest. I expect them and take them into the equation every time. They don't even phase me (when I'm at the point I can attack with macros, which, when I'm playing against some of the great scripters, I never reach, I'm usually **SD** long before I get to that point).
Heh.

for attacking i only use mac's. i don't use the same macs for each game, i make dif macs for each game and each edit and each ship. as long as i have zoc autoload my session profile each game, i am good to go and tend to not eat all that much carbo (yes sometimes, you get suprised and just have the quick draw F1 saveme please pray macro hit and you might eat some carbo, but when hunting, i usually have my mac's set up to account for the situation (ie:who i am hunting, what ship i/they are in, A/D odds, figs/shields/if they know they are being hunted, if they will get a shot off, if i am at dock, etc..)
