You'd think EIS associates would have each other's personal info (like phone number). Send e-mails to the other EIS personnel too..heh Someone will get the messages sooner or later. :)

I see posts like this every two months or less...... Obviously some good time has been put into the game recently with all the revisions that have been coming out...so what is a few seconds to email somebody some information they payed for.

I need more places to play damnet!

Ahh yes in some cases it may have been due to ****ty spam mail filters, in those cases I apologize.

Delays in reg codes is never because John just doesn't think it's worth sending them. He is the only one who handles them, and if he's out of town or something like that, there can be delays.

I wonder if it might not be more productive and cut down on communication problems like this if there was some way to notify people before they order/pay about what the expected wait time was and/or if John was out of town or an extended delay was expected. At least then people would know what they were getting into and spending their hard earned money on, which I think is a much fairer proposition than simply taking their money and leaving them hanging for days/weeks as has happened before. For the considerable price of a full set of reg codes, I don't think it's asking too much to know when to expect delivery of the product you've purchased.

And yes, some times it's the user's fault due to their own spam filters or some such thing, but that's not what I'm addressing here and hopefully people can see that.

Anyway, that's just my $.02

In the 3 years or so I've been posting here, I can think of maybe 2-3 times that John has been out of town long enough for reg codes to be delayed more than a few days. At least one of these times it was posted on the main forum page that he was moving, but people still didn't read it. This current case is once again a problem with spam filters.

I would like to make a suggestion that the reg codes have an option to be postal mailed or faxed instead of just emailed. If someone has a spam filter eating their reg code emails, they should get a postal mail or fax.

Also as TW55 suggested, have a disclaimer on the order page for webmail accounts or spam filters accidentally seeing the reg code email as spam, so people know what is going on.

Most people just clean out their junk or spam folders on their webmail accounts without ever reading them to see if a false positive got sent there.

Not at all a surprise. I still think it would be helpful to put up some kind of information about the expectations when it will take longer than usual. I also like the idea that someone mentioned about a disclaimer that would warn them about spam filters. I know a lot of webmail providers are doing that whole 'whitelist' thing or letting you put in addresses that will bypass the filters, so maybe some kind of blurb about this could point people in the right direction? Or what about asking them for an alternate email address 'just in case', or disallowing free/webmail services that are known to cause problems with their default spam filtering?

Again, just seconding what I think is good idea from TW55. I also don't think it'd be bad to postal mail them like Orion was saying. I know a lot of people did that "back in the day" with registration codes for 'door' games. I do miss the old days sometimes. [B)]

Anyway, just my $.02 again.
