A couple of things to note... if you don't have swath auto-replying with any data, it can not effect the behavior of a TWX script. TWX connects directly to the TWGS. SWATH connects to TWX. If you have SWATH set to not sent anything, TWX will never know it's there.

To each his own

Windows 98 and 95 are old and unstable OS. I can make windows 9x blue screen by breathing the wrong way while clicking the right mouse button.

I wish you luck and hope you get your problem fixed sometime

Humm....I have been running 98 for 6 years on 6 to 8 systems, and in all that time i can count the numbers of blues on 1 hand. if you know how to set it up RIGHT!

i used 98, ive never had a blue screen of death. ive had idiots download viruses, which caused me to format HD, but 98 for the most part treats me well, i mean geez, atleast there isnt a 100MB update for it daily because it was written so ****ing poorly (see XP)
i would love to see twgs go linux.. of course i would have to learn to use it first, hehe. open source!!!

when using twx, sst or sdt I turn the lightbulb off on swath so its not a factor, when I bust I turn swath (lightbulb) back on and record the bust manually so I can see it on my (swath) map. just go to view, bust list, and add the sector you busted in.

Once you've had a mac, you never go back (or so I've heard anyway).

:)

As for me, as I've said the only time I get blue bombs is when running Swath.

Oh, by the way Animal straightened me out on the Java Script issue. Evidently, you gotta compiiilllle those already compiled scripts cuz they were compiled with older versions! Curses, foiled again.

Ok, we'll see, I haven't re-compiled any yet, but my money is on Animal's suggestion!

1 problem solved 10 or so more to go :)

The latter. WorldTrade.ts shuts down while using it. WorldSSM also shuts down. Both of them ignore navigation settings. For example, I tell WorldSSM to run in "paranoid" and the first thing it does is fly me straight into the only sector around with enemy figs and mines in it. Same thing with Worldtrade.

I've had this happen 2 or 3 times. Two times I was able to trace it back to having haggle set to "No Haggle". It should be set to "Off". The third time was harder to figure out. I think I was surrounded be a fig cloud. I blasted through, reset, end of problem.

I have cn9 set to space now. Dunno if having it set to all keys has an negative effect. I have not had any problems with Swath (other than the seldom seen starting error), that was not linked, in some way, with my own ineptness.

Now, if you're talking about the Swath Haggle setting, it shouldn't even come into play while running TWX scripts because, as I've said I turn "autorun" off when running twx scripts by clicking on the lightbulb. Swath should not attempt to do anything at all for you with that shut off, it certainly shouldn't try to haggle for you.

I would expect that if there were a conflict going on between the Swath and the TWX (related to haggling) that it would be during porting that the script locked up, and not upon entering sector.

Anyway, if you are saying that haggle should be set to off on my TWX script setup, I'm baffled by that, TWX world trade doesn't haggle?

Believe it or not, I thought of this too, and tried every possible combination in my nav computer.

Well, even Stein agreed, after thoroughly getting briefed on EXACTLY what was happening and the exact error codes and error messages, that something is not right with this program, but he did not have an answer as to what.

It might have something to do with the way my software is utilizing and saving the registration code. Each time I load up swath, it has the "No Announcement At Start" UNCHECKED! I can check that block until I'm blue in the face, it's always UNCHECKED when I load Swath, this tells me some part of my Swath software does not recognize my regestration code, and think's I'm running an evaluation copy.

This same problem could affect the way the program runs because all of the features I'm having trouble with are features that are only available with a registered copy.
