curious SGO, which base? Stuck at the Puzzle Palace myself.

Had an incident at Shaw when I was a dependant. One of the crew set off the ejection seat while the plane was parked. Sent him through the canopy. Bad business. Hope you heal up.

I heard that was a deliberate suicide. Maybe it's another case. As for which base, I'd rather not say, considering I am still in the Reserver and don't want to get in trouble, if you know what I mean

Maybe we are talking about different ones. My dad had to notify his family. According to him the guy had something on that triggered it as he was working on the avionics. Long time ago tho...back in 83 or 84.

The worst (now tell me, is that a word?) thing I have ever seen happened in AK. Couple of pilots training when this Capt "fired" on a Col. Thing is, he was weapons hot. Blew out the tail assembly on the plane. Col was about 20 miles from base and brought it in with just the flaps. Everyone from Wing Commander down got fired on that one. No loss of life or injury tho.

I heard about that one too. The worst one I ever saw was when the young kid decided to impress his supervisor. While his supervisor was in getting the proper tools to service a nose landing gear tire, the kid pumped the nitro unit up to 3000, and walked over and forced the servicing line onto the valve without a chuck and shot 3000 psi into the tire. The split rim on the tire came right apart at the lugs and the tire came off, striking the kid in the abdomen and cutting him in half, blowing his two pieces about 10 feet from the aircraft.

....wow.. disturbing...
anyone find it funny how these things get so far off topic sometimes you have to look up to the first post to remind yourself? heh. so, sgo, nice #SD#... heh
