I personaly don't mind these changes. They haven't hindered any of my scripts. I can keep from timing out at any prompt. Others however, need to learn adaptation. Just as averything else in life and the world, things change (evolve). Or not. LOL quiting is a form of changing.

CEO is sitting at a fig lock prompt waiting for a trap to spring or whatever. Prepared to do so for hours if that's what it takes. Enemy is online, skin and hair flying all around. With comms, he can continue to direct his corp and if necessary press "N" and assist in the battle.

Ok then I'll rephrase. Comms at a plock prompt arent necessary. As far as i'm concerned if you lock yourself into a course of action comms can wait long enough for you to press y/n .. it's not my concern you cant ask your corpies for advice on which is the best for you to press. In reality in doesn't hurt my corp one bit that globals are disabled in some prompts .. I only have 2 scripts to alter because of it and my communication with my corp is hindered exactly 0%. Don't complain to me because you are to lazy or to stupid to find ways around the change. Before you're ignorant rantings I was neutral concerning the new update but now I'm all for it .. just because it seems to piss you off.

and to Kavanagh .. my post states my views very clearly. (1)I can sit at a port w/o timing out as most everyone can .. except res it would seem. (2)Comms at the plock prompt aren't necessary. (3)Res is a pansie. (4)Res is an idiot. While I can see that points 3 and 4 could be mistaken for "argumentum ad hominem" clearly points 1 and 2 cannot.

What an ironic way to point out that someone else is ignorant...

Here's MY thing...if you are typing on coms, you won't be able to hit Y for a plock on a dime anyway. So why not use a messenger? Assuming you are using a helper with a chat window, you'd have to make the main window your active window again anyway, so what is the difference in say ICQ and a chat window? And you can't eve use that now with .56 from wha I gather...it's not able to send. I may be missing something...but it seems to be the same to me. Let me know.

TeamSpeak (or something similar) works well too, and I don't even have to change windows or take my hands off the keys in the TW window. Anyway that's offtopic.

But I think Res is talking about keeping from timing out...?

Can still send "Y" with a single keystroke even if typing a message on ss. Make an unused key (pause, home, anything)a hotkey and assign "^MY" to it. Many macro users wouldnt bother - hellcat could type his name faster than I could hit Y. They wouldnt notice any difference between <enter>Y and plain Y.

Many of us, myself included, do not use helpers.

I said he was an idiot not ignorant. His rantings were ignorant. He keeps saying that you can't prevent a timeout while on a port or in plock .. and you can .. easily. Also, he says the game is unplayable with the changes and this is simply laughable. Since I find nothing good or bad about the patch myself I can decide to be for it or against it for any trivial reason that occurs. I will maintain such a stance until a more substantial reason comes up. There is nothing ignorant in that.
