Wow, you continually amaze me with how dense you are. Try this sum up:
1. People can play however they want to, as long as it doesn't break any server rules
2. I don't feel that adding in server options is necesary to achieve #1
3. If people feel that those options are necessary, I disagree but don't have a problem with it
Get it now boy-wonder? Theres no inherent conflict between thinking the options are unnecessary and being OK with them being put into place. Oh, and you're still an idiot. 7 fricking pages and you still have no idea what my position is, lol. You're almost too much man! Keep it coming!

So basically you have no solid view on anything? Here's another attempt to sum up your ambigious thoughts you've spent tens of thousands of words trying to obscure your view: Game is fine how it is, but if it isn't then changes that aren't necessary can be added without complaint.
Took you awhile to admit to your twisting in the wind and have nothing to contribute to this discussion at all. But your therapist should find some positive steps as you have finally admitted to your habitual and vivacious trolling.
Since you now officially don't have a problem with these much needed tedit changes I hope Harley can go to his boss in good concious and say the entire Tradewars community would find it satisfactory to implement these tedit options quickly to reign in high level scripting in 3.14 while we patiently wait for v4's more permanent solutions. Psion, I know you will never behave respectfully towards me, but now that you aren't being an impediment to progress I hope that we can peacefully coexist on these message boards.

HAHAHAHA Oh man, you're something else. I haven't been trying to obscure my views, I've spent thousands of words trying to drill them into your thick skull. I HAD plenty to contribute to the conversation with Xentropy, but we worked things out. Lately I've just been spending thousands of words to tweak you You're an arrogant twit with the reading comprehension of a 4 year old. You're also a master of self-righteousness and at slinging mud while pretending to be squeaky clean.
For the 8000th time, I've NEVER had a problem with the changes being added in. You're just too stupid to realize thats what I've been saying. You've been too busy scouring my posts for ways to misportray me as some sort of absolutist hypocrite boogey-man.
And AGAIN I don't think high level scripting is out of control or needs to be reined in. Sheesh. Jackass. I've never been an impediment to so-called progress. Its not like I personally have the power to control what updates JP does or doesn't make. And no, I'll never act respectfully towards you until you quit being such a huge jerk. You've been arrogant, insulting, demeaning and accusatory from day one and have repeatedly attempted to demonize me. We can peacefully coexist as long as you quit being a jerk, but I don't see that happening. And I'm glad, too. I love reading your posts, they're almost too funny for words. You're so clueless that its hilarious

It looks like this is becoming another never ending post like the one Slim started a while back, I just reread it, I didn't realize it was that long. HEHE!

I want tedit changes too! What they are I don't know. I know I would like to go in game invis as sysop and send messages from zyrain and space pirates without being seen logged on. That would be great! I like messing with people that way. Or maybe like a MUD log on AS Zyrain or a ferrengi, yeah that would be better. I would like to have another shot of JD too! But I have to work tonight. So alas, no drink for me today! Darn work interferes with all my fun.
Oh and Hello all you script kiddies! ROFLMAO

I really do not see myself as a script kiddie granted I do use alot of scripts several of which I have written myself but I mainly use them to free up time so I can fine tune my trading ports or planets or a variety of other things that I would never have time to get to if I did not use so many scripts....so what makes one a script kiddie exactly?

Hehe Read the topic from first post, I think that question has been answered. Oh and BTW I am now a script baby, I haven't yet got to the kiddie level but I am working on it.
SCRIPTS ROCK!! Now where do I get a good pwarp/pkill script?

A script kiddie to me is someone who only uses scripts written by others and cannot write one themselves. This would be different than the player that uses his own scripts and sometimes uses one written by someone else - ie. ram_prober.

Just wanted to quote Traitor from another thread as further argument as to why I prefer ship delays:
quote:I'm using a macro to grab the planet numbers, and the way it works, you pop off dock, it tries to land, cancles the landing, then it ports again. I'm actually back on dock before I even recieve the message from the server that contains the planet numbers. In a lot of cases, I'm back on dock before an enemy recieves the message that I even lifted, due to the time it takes for the message to go from the server to the enemy. I'll certainly be back on dock before he can react and attack. So, anyway, the point is, in order to safely get the planet numbers, I have to burn a turn to get them. If I linger off dock long enough for twx to catch up with all the messages, and then choose the planet to land on, I'll be dead.
Now if you LIKE the fact you will be dead if it takes you 0.1 seconds instead of 0.05 seconds to perform a task, then that's fine; enjoy your scripts. [:)] Personally, if I wanted that kind of twitch game, I'd be playing Unreal Tournament.

Out of curiosity, what does ship delay have to do with busting planets at dock? I am assuming that is what the quote from Traitor is about.

With even one quarter (the minimum) ship delay, even a 2TPW ship would take half a second to power up weapon systems. This removes any issues with waiting for text to display, unless you're on dialup or something.
The fact that you can be dead before the text even scrolls actually makes a more fitting analogy than I made: Playing Unreal Tournament at 15fps.
