I agree with some of the points, and I have played in Svens games. I used to be the thorn in Svens side on another server where he sucked too, all he does is stay fed safe and run colo scripts all day long. Point is he runs his games on friday or saturday nights and I dont have the time for it. I usually can play and hour or two and mostly in the mornings during the week. That pretty much sticks me into the turn based group regardless of what I want to do. If you leave a unlimited game for more than an hour you will be lucky to still be alive when you come back to check on it. I just dont see much point in playing games that end after 1 day.

I myself have to admit that I've played several unlimited games, everyone's points are well stated. Unless you find those "newer" unlimited games where the server has rules about truces, Shorty is right about going afk for often times even more than 10 or 15 minutes.
My opinion is that if you have the time to expend, unlims are alot of fun, quick kills, short-term gains, short-term benefits. Turn based games have those long term gains, long term benefits. Both can be exciting if you know what you are doing, and there's no better way to figure that out than to play and get wasted in both of them. One of the biggest learning experiences I have found was USO 2003...in 10 minutes I learned more than I think I had in several months of playing.
You have players who only play unlims, players who only play turn games, and players who dabble in both, so there is something out there for everyone. Personally I love Sven's Campus Party Saturday Night, the one time I was able to play it anyways.
It's all about the game, and how you play it!

Death Star Corp will Kick your Asses in Unlimiteds.
Lets Play for Cash Prizes.....
I agree with Access Denied, Cherokee would be perfect in Unlimiteds.
Get used to Photon Tons, hmm I think I will allow multiple Photon Fire in Gangsters 3000.
Just you wait and See the Best Unlimited Turn Edits Ever made.
Muhahaha
TURNS....what are turns?

I am hosting an unlimited game at telnet://68.62.183.234
give it a shot... if it's down just try later; running it on a 266 and I may not have 100% uptime, but it is a 1.5M/256k connection so latency shouldn't be bad.

Never have played an unlimited turns game myself, nothing against them, just not to my taste.
I'd sure as hell hate to play a game banged by a Pak Protector though, limited or unlimited

Unlimited games are for winning,..and letting your pc do it for you,..turn games are for playing,..and enjoying.I play lots of both and although I think that unlimited turns are better,I'm still pretty new and getting killed by a script just plain sucks.I think anything that limits the abuse of helpers and macros is better for the true trader.Making money,colonizing,haggling,..whatever,..but attack scripts?not on my server ;]

I personally love unlim games... Or rather turn regen games. But they aren't much for bragging rights, let me put it that way...

Low turn games are the more callenging in my opinion (fun yet can get boring,) high turn and unlimiteds are more fun and do require skill to play. You do have to be quick at the keys to stay alive and when you play in games with Res, Prestone, Bone Collector, and Loki... you better have an awesome connection and fast reflexes. If not, one word for ya.... BOOM!

Darn I hate this. I have to agree with BC. That said and out of the way. ANybody that has been playing tradewars for any real length of time has played Turn based games period. (That is all there was.
There are two different games that are here:
1. Turn (limited)
2. Unlimited
Sometimes Time limited on either.
Just like sex, it is to each his own.
Yes there are skills to be used in them both. And in both there are LARGE egos to conquer!
If you like Turn based games Then play them. If you can teach some one how to play them then help them along. I find that this is the best place to teach someone to play the game. If they get somewhat good at Turn based games then we you put them into an unlimited game they are opened up to alot more moves but usually be more effecient than thoughs that just started out in unlimited games.
Turn based games can be very Challenging in there own right! If this is what you are use to or like that is fine. but then don't bash what someone else likes.. It really makes you look ignorant as to what they find and many others find appealing.
As of for Unlimited games Yes there Very challenging. Some are kill or death fests. if this isn't to you indiviual taste, don't play. However, their are Ulimited games that you can play were as you can build if that is what you like. Look for truces.. Look for Corpies that will play red and do your dirty work. then you can take the time to do what it is that you want. Most Red players want and will teach Newbies if they are willing to LISTEN! However, what really pisses off unlimited players as to newbies probably the most is: Hey can I corp with you? and then you show up for like 20 minutes a day. If that is all the Time you have, Jump up a paragraph.
