I would guess it's more likely your ceo wrote down the passwords wrong. They are case sensitive. Jerry doesn't actually do any of the password entry stuff by hand. His web form outputs a text file which a rexx script uses to put everyone in the game. There really isn't any space for error on his part.

superman, i didnt even have my password 1 minute before the game started, i icq'd jerry and he had my password immediately, though it was case sensitive and i didnt realize it till after the game started

btw, nails didnt seem to have a pword problem, he was online when your **** got taken

incidently, i dont think twchess centers much around skill, seems to center more around luck and your ability to stay online 24/7

It's amazing how certain people always seem to outluck others, isn't it? If you hadn't told me differently, I would almost have thought it had something to do with skill.

I will say this about chess after having only played it twice. If you arent at keys or at least have one corpie who is ALWAYS at keys, you will struggle. Does that make Kemper lucky? No, they played a very good game. Is it a tad unfair for peeps who arent available 24-7, yes. But, at the same time, if you sign up to play you already know this to be the case so there is really no excuse. I personally think they have played a very good game. When you are the only team who was EVER a real threat to invade another king, it says something about your skill. We were found by THREE corps besides corp one and not one of them were ever a threat to invade us. Corp one found us one day and we were dead on the same day. I would say it has a little more to do with the fact that they were at keys all the time and spent the time it took to win the game than it does with being lucky.

when i started racing, a guy told me that luck wins most races, but you have to be good enough to take advantage of the opportunity, i think its the same way with TW

you dont know exactly where everyone is hiding, when everyone is scouting and you come across a weaker corp first, i consider stuff like that luck, or if you find someone but dont have the figs to take out their wall and they happen to drop offline (didnt happen this round but i've seen it happen in the past) thats luck

not saying it takes no skill, cause if you suck you wont win no matter how lucky you are, i'm just sayin i think twchess is mostly about luck

Actually, we had two walls that both dropped offline which allowed them to capture our king. Yes, i see now what you are saying. If you happen to be the corp that finds that corp that doesnt log on first you will usually win chess. So in that regards sometimes luck will play a factor.

I agree with Bone Head... er Collector, TWchess is about luck and staying on 24x7. I think its more about staying on 24x7, cause if you don't, luck won't help you that much...

maybe peeps can agree on a 10 hour LOOP to run turns
then shut server down, or restrict game...set inactive..

Or make CHESS a 1 hour LIMIT

you cant put a time limit on chess, since it revolves around invading planets you would take out the online fighting, its fun tryin to nail ppl clearin figs

it sucks havin to put this much time in a game but theres no other way to have it

I LOVE the edits and hope jerry will run it during the summer when i actually have time to devote to the game. Or even better would be finding 3 other guys who have as much time as say, Kemper. Then i could work all day and not worry so much. It is a great game and one of the funnest turn games i have ever played.
