I have been wondering for awhile, popping in and outta here over an over... who really is the #1 player, first I hear it was some dude named electrivzkiy... whatever it is, then it was tweety andd now it is prestone... like who judges who is the #1 player an all... then going around this forum thing an all I hear that this person Rave is all goin on about she's one of the best... and going from webpage to webpage it more of Guardian, Lady Ice, Col Sanders, Bad Girl, and Survey are #1. Like how do you people even keep to who is #1 and who isnt... there is no way to keep track of the millions of people in the world playing... isnt that a little too odd... but oh well its something i have been thinkin about for quite awhile... Why not just drop all the people that are supposedly claimed to be #1, into a game and see who is really #1 in a solo game, or who's corp is #1 in a corp game... BOTE, doesnt seem like its find a #1, its more like its finding a tie. Oh well thats just my screwy opinion!

heheheh.....I don't think millions of players play this game, however, it is my opinion that people like to brand themselves #1 in this game. I am not sure if anyone is qualified to judge #1, except for perhaps the game creators, but different people are #1 at different types of games, and many people have very different and strong skills. Just my humble opinion.

hahahaha for one thing, if you see someone claim that they are the best, they usually suck unless they got a good player on their team

with that out of the way...

i'd agree with cfposi, most ppl are about equal in this game since ppl have different skills with it

but above all, prestone is probably the best may not be the fastest but hes smart enough so that dont matter, only problem is if something doesnt go his way he starts lookin for crap to blame for it

I don't think there is anyone playing the game that can be called the "best." Everyone loses sometimes.

and some people lose alot....

I think Prestone is not the best by himself . Having been in battle with him. There are only two players that scare me, Xide, and hELLCAT.

I have crushed Xide in Advanced Combat.
I have ROYALLY CRUSHED Prestone in Advanced Combat and open space combat.
hELLCAT has never killed me ship to ship.
I have never killed hELLCAT ship to ship.

I have corped with all of these guys.
They have all taught me well.
here is how I rate them.

Xide best overall player in TW
Prestone best CEO in TW
hELLCAT best killer overall in TW

Now I have told many TW Friends I am one of the BEST to ever play this game. When you take into account that I have NOT BEEN KILLED by many folks at all.

I have enough history with the 3 guys listed above to know where I stand. What sticks out is that you are only as good as your last game.......like any SPORT.....

TEAM WORK is key to winning in TW.
The corporation is what matters.


I would rather see more PERMA CORPS out there.

I know that Timborulz is fast entering my LIST of TOP PLAYERS.
I like to focus on KILLING more then overall game play.

Some people confuse the ability to KILL with that of being all around BEST PLAYER.

I may be a better killer then prestone, I AM, but solo I think that prestone would win as he understands RESOURCE MANAGEMENT and whats a Priority with is experience. I do not have as much experience as pres...

Xide is a SCRIPT WRITER, I am NOT.
I can macro kill his Butt though and have a few times.
I actually KILLED him more times then he killed me in WTC2001.
Xide is the best competition I have ever faced in any game setting.
I have corped with xide on many occasions. He is Da Bomb..

hELLCAT, now hC is the BEST KILLER, better then xide at KILLING not overall game play. I do not think hC has played a whole lot since HELPERS like TWX became so devastating in TW just over the last year.

hC is a MASTER with MACROS like myself.
I am more like hC than any one, as I do not WRITE SCRIPTS
but understand COMMANDS and Their effects fairly well.

hC has not played much since WTC2001 and USO2002.....
So many of you newer players may only know of hELLCAT by REP..
And let me tell you he is a MASTER KILLER, and the fastest TYPER I have seen in TW.

Now I agree its very hard to SAY WHO IS THE BEST.
Well we do have TW AWARDS, however, they are more of a popularity contest then actually RATING SYSTEM, we have TW LEAGUE, which is members ONLY and has been experiencing growing pains...


SO BOTTOM LINE IS THIS...


CORP vs CORP GAMES.
Not many games out there are non corp games or solo games...
SO you all know that its TEAM WORK that WINS.

Cherokee has a new GAME IDEA for corp vs corp playoffs like
the NCAA basketball, basically a SWEET 16.
This game would be different in that you will only have 1 team vs another team, the winner advancing.

This I believe is the best way to actually RATE Players, how they play
on a team and what teams or perma corps they dominate.

Sure every one loses once in a while, but you know when a player dominates, usually is only the KILLERS you hear about, and not the normal CEO that is smart and builds more then KILLING FOR KICKS.

KILLING ALONE DOES NOT WIN GAMES, heck if you know how to HIDE LIKE KEMPER, and never hit more then 1 fig at a time, you can LIVE MUCH LONGER heheheh, but if you HUNT and SEEK the Enemy on a regular basis
you are more well known for KILLING..... but that does not MEAN YOU ARE THE BEST.

So when peeps claim they are the BEST what do they mean?...
BEST KILLER? or BEST SOLO PLAYER? or are they...just full of it...LOL

I will post challenges where my CORP WILL CHALLENGE ANY OTHER CORP
to a CORP vs CORP game.

I plan on winning all such games, at that time I will CLAIM TO BE ON THE BEST CORP IN TW.

I wont claim I am the BEST KILLER or BEST PLAYER, dam good but how can I honestly claim I am BEST OVERALL when I dont script.

BUT I CAN BEAT ANY ONE ANY TIME and most peeps NEVER GET CLOSE to "ship destroying" me...

Oh no, someone had to mention my name and attract my attention! Now I've got to come in here and claim to be the best all over again, challenge 150 people to a megacorp versus Rave game so I can kick all their butts from here to Alpha Centauri. And I'll do it too! Really, I will! I can play solo versus 150 players with eight broken fingers, two dislocated thumbs and wearing a pair of blinders to boot.

Sometimes it's so Darn hard to be this Darn good...

Okay... joking aside... Who's the #1 player? Aside from me of course? I would have to say that Xide is by far the best all around player, both as a blue hunter and as a red cash machine. In short, he's brilliant, and if there was a God of Trade Wars, it would be him (bear in mind that I'm the TW Goddess, thank you very much).

As for me... I don't play TW anymore. I haven't played Trade Wars in quite a long time. At least not competitively. And I am Darn good. There are a lot of different areas a player can be really good at. Some players are natural-born killers, some are the best players without ever getting much attention because they're in the background cashing out every single one of their turns every day of the game. So a question of who's the best is pretty pointless. Whos the best at what?

The only TRUE test of who the best all-around player is would be do do exactly what you suggest. Get a crapload of players together and dump them all into a turn-limited time-limited solo game and see who walks away the winner.

You forgot to add: and Rave of course. I'm terrified of Rave. I CBY and quit games the moment I see Rave on the Who's Online list. It's funny watching 99% of the best players all CBY at the same time when Rave shows up.

Oh, and I wanted to cover this comment by itself. Almost forgot.

I didn't get along well at all with EleqTrizi'T but at the zenith of his TW career he was by far the best all around players, in my opinion. On top of that, he did exactly what every successful person does... he surrounded himself with MORE successful people. He put together teams that would knock your socks off with pure skill. Could he compete in today's games? I doubt it. But that doesn't mean he wasn't the best then. The game continues to change, even though the play itself hasn't changed much in the last ten years... the players are just getting more advanced.

Who's the best TW player of all time?

Well... me of course.
