Actually, the ideal would be an Excel workbook with multiple sheets. The first sheet would have all of the settings clumped logically, as above, with perhaps some read-only cells that automatically calculate things based on that data (this would be especially useful in editing of planet settings; the appropriate cells would automatically list ideal colo count, max product, ideal figs per colo, and so on). The other sheets would just copy the data from the first sheet into the same order and layout as in Tedit, for ease of transfer of the data into Tedit.
Without knowing about these particular posts regarding worksheets for TEDIT use, I created a simple version of what you're talking about. The worksheets I see posted here look too "busy" to be useful in a "user-friendly" sense.
Here is a link to the Excel file I created http://www.legalnetsolutions.com/TWGS_Settings.xls.
It is not totally complete like the one I see here,
but does contain: General Editor screens 1-3, Gold Ship Editor, Gold Planet Editor screens 1-3, and Alien Editor screens 1-6. That's 13 worksheets imbedded into one Excel spreadsheet like you just mentioned.

I made the sheets color coordinated for ease of use, if you do not personally care for using colors you can always print them in grayscale as an option. These are meant to be used as hard copies. I do like the idea of using actual spreadsheets, though the settings within the editors are complicated and vary depending upon options you choose. This makes it confusing to keep track of making accurate edits via spreadsheets. It would take more of a customized program to actually perform the setting adjustments as they occuring while creating the edits. That is why I felt these were are good alternative. I am still working on them, I am just taking a break from them do to other projects I have since started. I still need to make the final drafts and then the real challenge it getting a editor guide put together, which I will be asking for a lot of help on that to get it as accurate and thorough as possible.

If there are any discrepancies, issues, problems, or suggestions with any of these sheets please let me know so that fix them as appropriate. Also I am including the actual Excel documents for those that wish to make their own alterations can freely do so.

Are you sure? I tested it at both home and at work just to make sure, both are working fine for me. Is anybody else having problems downling from the Excel link?

Man this is going to take a while, I am just finishing the draft for page 1 of 3 on the general editor!
I have a question on setting 'F' "Percent of two-way warps", Im not sure exactly how this works, this is what I came up with for it so far, although it is probably incorrect; if anybody can guide me in the right direction. I was originally thinking this was correct, but then realized why could there not be 3, 4, 5, etc. two-way warps in some of the sectors. I just wanted to make sure how this actually works.
"Sets the number of two-way warps within a game, (these are sectors that allow adjacent travel to and from them.) The number of two-way warps can range from 10-200% of the size of the universe, i.e. 100% would ensure that the number of two-way sectors equals the size of the universe, though more then one two-way warp could be placed into random sectors throughout the universe. Using 200% would additionally increase the number of two-way sectors to double that the size of the universe, also following the same guidelines as mentioned above."
Ok, another question about MBBS mode how accurate is this as pertaining to MBBS mode:
"MBBS Mode sets the maximum starport production to 32,760 per product type, allows Megga-Robbing, clear-busts occur daily, and changes the fighter alignment/experience gains and penalties."
As quoted from The CSHO it states:
Evil Stealing Factor is set to 70%
Evil Robbing Factor is set to 50%
Planetary Trade Percent is set to 100% instead of 60%
I was wondering about the evil settings, are they adjustable or set in stone for MBBS mode?
Ok another question for editor one:
the "Ferrengi Regeneration Percentage" is this based on a hourly update cycle or only at extern or midnight? Also is it percentage based upon the total population at that period of regeration?
Also:
Regarding the daily log lines limit, does using larger numbers lag the server?
Also I think I found another mistake on my part. is the Terran repoduction rate based upon the planet setting of Terran (I wrote this as the default: 65,535), so if you edited Terran to have a population of 1,000,000 it would change the maximum default limit from 65,535 to 1,000,000 correct? Also if this is the case what is the maximum allowable 100,000,000?

Thats wierd, so some can download off the hyperlink and others need the direct link. I personally have pretty tight setting configured and have no problems, so I was thinking it has something to do with one of those funky windows settings such as: allowing web content in windows, opening a new browser, using classic windows, etc.

Ok, in addition to the last post on the previous page I have a few more brain-busters right here... [;)]
I was trying to recall exactly how planet collisions work, so I am not sure how correct this is:
This sets the maximum allowable planets within a given sector during extern, if this is exceeded it will cause the lowest numbered and highest numbered planet to collide into each other, this action only occurs once per extern and operations on a percentage curve that increases 10% per additional planet over the limit, i.e. 1 planet over the limit has a 10% chance of collision, 2 planets over the limit has a 20% chance of a collision occurring, etc.
Also what specfically does Tournament Mode actually do?
On another note, I just realized how funny some of these settings actually are: Max days to enter 65,535 days(thats 179.5 years!!!) even thought the oldest game can tops out at 6,400 days that is 17.5 years old! 255 planets per sector if you can manage that many planets you have some serious skills, then again if you actually need that many planets maybe not, then again Terra would not be able to colo planets at that rate anyways! 255 days till deletion, if you are gone that long might as well kiss your assets goodbye! Max allowable SD's 65,535, now if you need that many you should seek professional assistance and if you actually reach that many... you should still seek professional assistance. [:P]
