Hello all,

I had two users, (Lizard and Crimson Tide) logged into a game on my server today from the same ip at the same time. (It is clearly stated on my screens that dupes are not allowed) Will someone here vouch for either of these two players? Otherwise I will be forced to ban their ip and delete their accounts from tw3003.com

I am not a computer genius, but I cannot think of any other way two players could be logged in from the same ip at the same time, other than duping.

I caught them in game at same time...Lizard "guaranteed" he was alone...

I have seen many players that log in with a spouse or sibling and have same IP. However, I make it a point to tell them they need let the sysop know so they are not confused with dupes.

If he guaranteed that he was alone...meaning nobody else in his household was playing that game. Then youve caught him in a lie.

Not necessarily I am behind a nat and only have 1 ip address viewable but my whole town (wireless access) also has the same IP address. Luckily no one in my town plays tradewars. But it could happen

your whole town uses one connection? hmmm, do you live in a trailer park?

almost... town of 900 people, but let me rephrase that anyone using the wireless access ISP has the same IP number. I think I could get DSL here but wireless was here first and I grabbed it when the only other option was dialup. My point being that Nat is very easy to set up and not having to buy all the IP addresses needed for a large network.

actually one time i was on a TW server (i wanna say it was merlins) and he said why are you duping and i said wtf you talking about, he said that me and someone else have the same IP.. this other person lived on the other side of the country, but somehow we had the same IP.. kinda strange

While not common, Black Fox and I share the same IP, since all our work IP's go through one gateway. Could be something like this.

PHX was correct though. Lizard/Crimson Tide created a third user, Titan. I logged in and warped to his ta. Both Lizard and Titan were working same planets. They are history.

I want to Congrats Lightfoot. not all the SYSOPS out there
control or look for dupes. and far less report it here so other sysops, or players are aware of ofenders, and might repeat it on other servers. 2 thunbs up, you the man!

Honestly I don't understand what the problem is with duping as long as it’s kept within the same corp.

Now mega corping there’s a banable offence.
