If pretty much everyone does a ZTM when starting a game, why don't more sysops simply provide warp data to their players? Is there a reason that I am not thinking of that they don't?

No reason why they don't. I would prefer if sysops would, than the people who complain about scripts can't complain that somebody else had a better ZTM script.

Its easy to do, log in as an observer and run a CIM like in a regular game, the observer account gives you the full map and then just post the export file in multiple formats for different helpers. The reasons I can think of that it isnt done more is a lot of sysops dont know how or dont know they can. Still other sysops, like me, like to make the players work for their own data, thats part of the game, no sense in taking away all the work or the fun of playing just so others can be lazy.

Everyone starts with identical game assets. Some have better helpers/scripts than others. A fast and accurate ztm is an advantage, early in a game. The helpers are available to all and sundry.

Some several of us have been playing "the old fashioned way" for a couple decades. We used ztm, "back in the days", believe it or not.
Send the string "ÈÉÊËÌÍ" when in the game, to check. Its alt 200 thru 205.
