It was suggested that 'to increase game speed' I increase the Max Commands/Cycle to 25-50. I couldn't find anything in the forums about it so thought I'd ask. Right now I have things set to the default of 4 and with my dsl connection I haven't seen much of a problem speedwise. What, if anything, would increasing the commands to such a high amount do?

there have been posts about it, they just super old, heh.
basically, max commands per cycle at 4 means that anyone who types like 40wpm or faster types faster than the game can keep up, at 25-50 commands per cycle, you can type as fast as you want and the only time you will go slow is when u accidently cby heh. things like colonizing, moving products, gridding, planet busting, etc.. if you do them at max commands of 4, you will fall asleep, heh.

The max commands/cycle setting specifies how many commands the TWGS will process in 1 cycle. For example, if you send m1234^many9999^m^mf1^mcd, with a max commands/cycle setting of 4, it would take several cycles to process that. In that case, it would appear to someone playing that the game was going slowly. In general, a max commands/cycle setting of 30-50 is ideal.
