Newbie TWGS op here. I would like to run TWGS as a service under winxp. TWGS seems to install as an app by default, and need to be started manually from a user account. I'd like it to run regardless of anyone actually being logged in. Is there a way to do this? I know how to turn services on/off but now how to create a new one. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

First, you should do a search in the forums. As this has been asked many times before. And it has been answer as many times before.

It also tells you how to do it when you click the autorun box in the config tab of the TWGS.

I got it to run as a service, but as the search results turned up, it doesn't really work too well in xp. I'll be trying a 2000 install later on.

Be careful with Win 2k because there is an extern error problem that only seems to show up on Win 2k systems. It will delay extern on some or all games by as much as an hour or more because there is nobody there to click the ok button on the error.

Well, it seems to run fine in xp as it's own user if I maintain a session for it, and do fast user switching to lock the console, or do things under another user, so perhaps I'll just do this until a more permanent fix comes along. Eventually I'll move it to it's own machine, but for now it's pulling double duty.

One program that you might want to check out is FireDaemon. It is basically a service manager, but it gives you very good control over your services and you can turn nearly anything into a managed service using it. I use it with TWGS and set the internal TWGS startup mode to Online. If I lose power or reboot, my server and all my web services start automatically and in the order I specify. I highly recommend it. (No, I don't know the developer or work for them

Hell I would be happy just to have a program that automatically clicked the ok button on the extern error for me. If anyone knows of something that can do that please let me know.
