See Harley Nuss' suggestions he's the only one who really answered your question.
I've never tried the things that Harley suggests, so I will say, aside from taking the steps he said, I myself know of no way of combatting script players other than to become one yourself.
It's a financial boone for the script writers who sell their scripts. Makes you wonder if it's fair to JP. He does all the programming work, gets a one time registration fee, the the script writers clean up selling scripts that a player MUST have in order to even play.
If I were JP I'd have already figured a way to thwart the scripts and implemented it for that reason alone, or perhaps change how the game operates. Bottom line, if you find a way to compete or out do a script player without scripts, now THAT I will pay for. As for buying the scripts, I'm not doing it, out of principle alone. It is just a game after all?
Now, if those script writers who sell their scripts were paying a percentage to JP, it would be a different story entirely.

My problem with the Games is I play and I am sort of still learning the game, but with all the new scripts and not being able to keep up or being a script writer it is hard for me to win or even play a game for a long period of time, with new scripts like oremaker to fill up a planet so it is virtually impossible to take? How do you fix that to make a game better and last longer?
James
sorry I'm getting back to this late. to stop an ore-mover script, the game planets can not have any or very little fuel ore to start when you first make the planet. (meaning, you use a gen-torp and none of the planets have ore on them).

Good place for it if ya ask me...
I was just trying to think of a game play for players without offensive scripts. Not really a Newbie game, but a game where they didnt have to worry about dieing if they hit 1 fig. [:D]
I doubt i'd even play, but just throwing the idea out there for other sysops, etc...

The server my buddy and I is actually going to be geared towards the 'middle-class' players. No offensive scripts for most of the game, and maybe a couple games for em for balance. I myself would like to permit growth in the game.....give the newer players a chance to learn and play without getting hit with a photon with each move. Also have a few blue-geared games, and some crazy edits. Right now running a couple 1-man corp games, and a few corps. Take a look.
